DougNichols 124 Posted September 1, 2010 I went to Amazon, and there's so many. I probably have all of the food addiction symptoms possible (head hunger, emotional hunger, overeating, etc). The LAST thing I want is to finish surgery and gain weight again because I didn't resolve the mental issues. Out of the 30+ books available, which do you recommend for: - Learning why this happens - Implementing a plan to fix I'm going to counseling as well for any underlying problems that might have led to it. thanks! BlackBerryJuice 349 Posted September 1, 2010 Are you a binge eater? I used to binge before the surgery, and my counselor recommended "Overcoming Binge Eating" by Christopher Fairburn. It's an older book, but it's very scientifically based and is considered to be the gold standard.
pcindy 8 Posted September 3, 2010 I recommend the "12 Steps and 12 Traditions of Overeaters Anonymous." Lots of literature available at www.OA.org Good luck!
