notthatgirl77 0 Posted September 1, 2010 Hey Everyone, :thumbup1: I'm a little over 3 weeks post op and finally feeling better. Everything went fine just was in some horrible pain! I mean HORRIBLE. Doing better now, and it's great to see the scale go down. I'm down 41 (since December when the whole process started) and down 20 since surgery. I don't feel it at all, but people are noticing! I went shopping for a dress and it's 3 sizes smaller! YAY. I wasn't going to buy it since I doubt I'll wear it a lot, but it was 70% off and it made me feel good! Ok, enough of my babbling. I have a few questions for you all... 1. How long did you use the baby spoon? I love it and it really keeps my bites in check, but I'm going back to work soon, I'm just wondering how long I should use it. 2. I'm having a horrible time getting Protein AND all my fluids in. It seems I can do one or the other, but not both. STupid question, I feel like I should know the answer to: Does the Water I use to make a Protein shake count as Fluid? (I warned you it was stupid, but I really don't know!) I just love these boards! Thanks everyone
Globetrotter 1,340 Posted September 1, 2010 I'm 6 weeks out and still use a spoon and fork I got with cans of lunchmeat spread, so even tinier then baby utensils. Yes the Water used in shakes etc. counts, in fact any liquid you can get down counts as liquids, including clear broths. I wasn't able to do "straight" liquids and food at the same time for the first 2-3 weeks. Never ever feel that a question is stupid or inconsequential, that is the beauty of this forum, we can all relate!!

I need to get another type of liquid pain medication asap. Because they gave me tylenol with codine but it knocks me out and all I do is sleep, not good! I'm not even worried about protein right now, I'm just trying to get fluids and Vitamins in for now. I will cross the protein bridge at my post op appointment next week:redface1:, otherwise it's way toooooo overwhelming for me:frown1:.

notthatgirl77 0 Posted September 2, 2010 Thanks Sleeve 4 Me! It seems once I finally get something down, it's time to add another. I had a hard time getting all my fluids it. When I finally was able to get them all, I had my week check up and had to start counting the Protein. It's so hard! But...it's so true. The days I'm able to get all my fluids AND protein, I feel great! So I try to make that my motivation but it's still hard. But...we can do this! And we will. It's just an adjustment! Good luck! :scared0:
sleeve 4 me 910 Posted September 2, 2010 OK let's not stress ourselves out :scared0: that doesn't help. We will work at this and get it done together...eventually lol

Donna4545 13 Posted September 2, 2010 coffee makes you pee so I wouldn't count it, or milk, but tea yes, anything made with Water, in general, yes I would count it.
