Hi All, I was going to mention something to the nurse coordinator that I found a little unsettling and wondered if anyone else had the same experience. I am not a prude but then again I have never gotten a message because I really don't want anyone to see my fat. Now I know during surgery I am laid out like a Thanksgiving Turkey but I found it a bit unsettling to wake up in a totally different gown and two extra needle marks. Anyone else?

Nancy

Where are the needle marks?

You can expect the gown to come off, as your body will covered in sterile draping to protect the area that will be disinfected and cut into. http://img.medscape.com/fullsize/migrated/558/014/aos558014.fig1.gif

If I had thought it out I probably would have known about the gown but it just felt weird to think some stranger dressed me while I was out. One needle mark was obviously an IV attmept on my right hand the other was an injection site on my right deltoid.Don't get me wrong I don't think anything untoward happened it just was jarring.

I'm a nurse, so I probably have a totally different view of this than you do. No doubt, you needed a new gown. Someone probably tossed the old one on the floor, or in the laundry cart. You would not be wearing a stitch when you're on the table, but they would have a large part of you covered with sterile drapes. If I were you, I'd be happy they found a gown to put on you before you got to your room. Many of my patients come back to me completely naked, but covered with warm blankets post-op. I always try to get a gown on them before they're all the way conscious.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.

Hi, I’m new here. I’m currently on the liver shrinking diet. So far so good, but I have to say I haven’t found a protein shake I like. Anyone have any suggestions please? My surgery date is September 17th.

Fairlife Core are by far the best. They taste just as they are - chocolate milk. You can either get the 26 grams or the 42 grams (harder to find and more expensive). For straight protein look at Bulksuppliments.com ..they have really good whey proteins and offer auto ship plus they test for purity. No taste or smell...

Fairlife has strawberry, vanilla and of course chocolate. No more calories than other protein drinks. Stay away from Premiere, they're dealing with lawsuits due to not being honest about protein content.
