shasta 0 Posted August 30, 2010 Wow! Been a long time since I have been on here. Just been so busy! But happy to report-no DELIROUSLY HAPPY to report that I am down 89 pounds in less than 4 months!!!!! I can't even describe the way that I feel! I have gone from a tight 28, to a tight 22. (Just feels good to squeeze into that smaller size ) I still have some hormonal issues, but they are getting better. My OB says I'm like a pubescent boy and have "erotic thoughts" every 12 seconds. I wonder if anyone else went through this? He said that my testosterone level is still producing at my original weight, hence the increase in libido. Not that I'm minding....but the hormones do cause me to change focus ALOT!! I'm on some additional hormone therapy, but doesn't seeem to be helping much. Any light that anyone can shed on this sure would be appreciated!
goodlife 3 Posted August 31, 2010 I can't say I've ever heard of that particular hormone reaction post surgery. I know that I've been much moodier since surgery and I figure that's due to my hormones. I'm thinking about doing a full hormone workup on myself just to see where I am. Were you on some hormone therapy before surgery?
AutumnLily 77 Posted August 31, 2010 Congrats Shasta on the weightloss! You know the increase in libido could lead to some really fun exercise and help to lose more weight. Lily
Globetrotter 1,340 Posted September 1, 2010 You have GOT to go to the thread I started in the "Ladies Gone Wild" section - it addresses this exact, "problem", hee hee. The thread is called "now there's a side effect ..."
shasta 0 Posted September 1, 2010 thank you ladies!!
mp8btpc 33 Posted September 1, 2010 My husband will cross his fingers that I end up with this sort of side effect. LOL
shasta 0 Posted September 1, 2010 I was not on hormones before. I do have a murana implant, and my OB said that I am still producing testosterone at the levels I was 80 pounds ago, plus the extra release in estrogen. I am however not producing progestin (sp?) So he added a nuva ring as well. But I have also been on my period pretty much nonstop since surgery. I go back in 2 months to see if the two bc are working in the hormone department. But am definately not minding this side affect! Just wish it wasn't in overdrive quite so much!!
