how much food can you eat after 6-9-12 months?

Recommended Posts

i'm curious of how much food can you eat after 9 months or a year.

i'm on my 7th month and i can eat just a couple of bites more than the last few months, which was around 6oz (160-180grams) depending it's density. but it is usual 31/2 oz meat or fish and the rest 2-21/2oz vegetables.

how much can you eat?

I'm curious, does your stomach actually "stretch" over time, or does it just handle slightly more food because the wounds have healed up?

Hello there,

I am a 2 year post-op. I have lost a total of 150 pounds, and have maintained my goal weight for approximately 9 months now. At two years out, I can still only eat about 3 ounces of DENSE Protein and maybe 2 ounces of veggies at one sitting. If I eat somehting like ground beef, cottage cheese, ricotta cheese, or anything that is more of a "slider food," I can eat probably about 6 to 8 ounces.

The secret is eating DENSE PROTEIN---but only once you are cleared for that. Two years out, I am finding if I eat the wrong things (such as Pasta or bread), I can just about eat a normal sized portion, however, dense Protein hits my sotmach harder, and fills me up a lot more. Concentrate less on how much you eat and more on what you eat, and you will be fine. Good luck!!

Yes the dense Protein is the most filling for me also. I was amazed the other night at the movies at how much popcorn I could eat! That stuff must press down to nothing when it hits your stomach. But if it's chicken or steak, maybe 4 bites and I'm done. I can eat a whole yogurt pretty quickly, but still can't finish a Lean Cuisine. I can eat almost a whole slice of pizza (minus the back of the crust), 1/4 of a sub sandwich (with the bread crust peeled off) or 1 taco. salad is easy to eat a lot of, and I can usually get in about 1/3 of a burger. Most importantly, food is not as important to me as it used to be. I remember before that upon waking up I would think about what there was to eat for Breakfast, but now I wake up with thoughts of what the scale might say today. Food is just a formality to eliminate hunger, and it doesn't matter that much what the food is anymore, especially since it's only 4 bites anyway!

I'm right there with Karen at 15 months out. Any slider foods, I can eat about 6-8oz. Dense Protein 3-5oz. 3oz if I want to eat some veggies/starches, 5oz if all I want is dense Protein (meat).

I've been eating the same amounts since around 7-8 months. Still have the same level of satiety off my portions, and still have zero physical hunger.

I don't measure by oz because I don't weigh my food. I can eat half a cheeseburger with the bun depending on how big it is, of course. I can eat one piece of pizza, one soft taco from taco bell, but I tear off part of the tortilla.

I can eat most of a chicken thigh. I would say if I took a piece of cooked meat, whether it's pork, chicken or steak, I can eat less than the size of the palm of my hand. I can eat quite a bit of salad, but I always mix in shrimp or chicken breast.

I would say that I eat the same amount of food that I could eat at 6 months and it has not increased now that I am at 16 months post op.

Hi, I’m new here. I’m currently on the liver shrinking diet. So far so good, but I have to say I haven’t found a protein shake I like. Anyone have any suggestions please? My surgery date is September 17th.

Fairlife Core are by far the best. They taste just as they are - chocolate milk. You can either get the 26 grams or the 42 grams (harder to find and more expensive). For straight protein look at Bulksuppliments.com ..they have really good whey proteins and offer auto ship plus they test for purity. No taste or smell...

Fairlife has strawberry, vanilla and of course chocolate. No more calories than other protein drinks. Stay away from Premiere, they're dealing with lawsuits due to not being honest about protein content.
