Gaining Weight - HELP!!!

Recommended Posts

My sleeve surgery was in March of 2007 - and I have gained back 15 pounds and I am scared to death. I can't even remember what I am supposed to be eating - help - somebody tell me what I ate post op. All I can remember is popsicles. I guess I lost a few brain cells when i lost the pounds. I know that I need to increase my Water intake - but what Protein should I be eating... I promise to get on the scale more often as well.

ANY and all advice will be appreciated!!! LOTS!!!

main thing is Protein first, stay away from the white carbs, drink lots of fluids and i'm sure it will all come back to you and you'll do fine, good luck jeani

tough love - how can you have forgotten your dietary needs? I didn't think that was physically possible.

Are you in OA? Have you sought therapy for underlying issues?

I'll guess that you aren't tracking your food then. It really keeps you honest, fitday - dailyplate - fatsecret are all online food trackers.

I've heard of some folks here doing a "sleeve cleanse", sort of like resetting the clock, where they go back to a liquid/protein shake diet for a week.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
