Ms. Vicki 0 Posted June 7, 2006 Let me preface this by saying I have been on a TON of meds because of my MO, so much so, that my kids make fun of how much I take. I am diabetic, have HBP, depression, insomnia and about every other malady associated with MO. I am 3 months into Bandland. From the first day of banding, I was able to quit my insulin injections, which was wonderful. I've lost 33 lbs and am feeling great. Actually, I've been getting dizzy lately and have had frequent episodes of low blood sugar. I went to the Dr. yesterday suspecting my BP was going low and causing the dizzy spells. He agreed, lowered my BP meds, my diabetic meds and my depression meds. He also took me off my sleeping pills. He ran all the usual battery of tests and told me to come back in a week to discuss the results. Well, I got a call today saying I did not need to come back for 3 months, EVERY test was perfect, and even my HC1A was at non-diabetic levels! I am on a natural high and just had to share my NSV! :clap2: :clap2: :clap2: :clap2:

MoOrLess 0 Posted June 8, 2006 Congrats Vicki! I know exactly what you are talking about - I am now considered non-diabetic too - I have one last A1C at the end of June - I am off two diabetic medications and blood pressure meds (used only for diabetic safety of the kidney). Woo hoo! The only difference is that I am not banded -- but weight loss of 11.5 lbs (when I stopped the medicines) and exercise helped me too. It truly is exciting!!! Congratulations!!!! A life free of medicine - yea!
