Don't want to eat!!!

Recommended Posts

I was on my pre-op diet for two weeks which consisted of unlimited sugar free popsicles and Jello, broth, and one 8 oz. glass of skim milk, a low carb/cal. yogurt and 60 grams of Protein shakes. My one week post-op diet was the same minus the milk and yogurt.

Today is the day I'm suppose to be able to eat cottage cheese, string cheese, tuna.etc.... for one meal, then go back to drinking Water and Protein Shakes for the rest of the day. Well..... I don't have any HUNGER!!!!! Nothing sounds good to me and the smell of food kinda makes me nauseous. I don't want to eat. I know I should, but?

:confused1:ANYONE ELSE FEEL THIS WAY?

I felt that way until today, for some reason I really feel like eating, i think it's just head hunger though, i've been snacking during the day, thank God that with a little bit of chicken or one rice cake i fill up. I think I'm starting to mourn food, so I can't wait to be able to get back to the gym to start seeing more results! Good luck to you!

It was very hard for me to eat at first. I did have low grade nausea for a while but it went away around the end of the first month. Don't worry about rushing, your poor little tummy has been through alot! It has been cut and stapled and has a lot of healing to do. My doctor had me on full fluids for the first two weeks and the only real food on my list was greek yogurt. I have noticed from other posts that different doctors seem to recommend different things. So just do what your body is telling you for now. If you aren't feeling better after the weekend, perhaps you should just give a call and see what the doctor says.

Try eating just a few bites at a time and see how you feel. You don't have to rush. Take a small bite and then wait a few minutes. If you feel okay, then eat a little more. At over a year out, I still very, very seldom experience hunger. But, I know I need to eat in order to fuel my body and give it the proper nutrition it needs.

I'm feeling the same way. I was told yesterday I could start on soft foods. I thought woo hoo I can eat more than just popsicles, Protein Drinks, and Jello. Last night I had an egg with some cheese. Today I got up and couldn't bring myself to eat anything. So it is a challenge. I'm hoping it will get easier. I know too that I have to eat in order to give my body the energy it needs to make it through the day. Just seems kind of tough when eating is not something on my list at the moment.

Hi everyone! I’m brand new here. I just went through all my pre-op requirements per my insurance company and now everything has been submitted and I’m just waiting for final approval and my surgery date. I’ve been doing research, watching YouTube videos, TikTok’s, ect.. trying to prepare my mind and what to expect so I’ll be ready for the surgery. I was so sure and so set and so ready and excited. However, now that I’ve done everything & it’s almost here, I am sooooooo scared! I know why I want it bc I’ve tried everything and I just don’t feel like I can lose weight by myself. I’m tired of being overweight my entire life. I’m miserable, but I keep psyching myself out afraid of GERD bc I know how that can be and I don’t want to have to get a bypass after already gaining the courage to even get VSG. I’m scared of complications like I’mgoing to regret doing it and be depressed that I didn’t just be more disciplined and try again to lose the weight on my own even sitting here typing this knowing in my mind i just can’t and don’t possess the discipline. I’m also afraid I won’t be able to handle the restrictions of the sleeve. What do I eat? I don’t know how to eat healthy really and don’t enjoy healthy food. I don’t know how to do this! I feel so defeated!Someone tell me they felt anything similar to this or am I not ready? I thought I was. I am so tired of being sick and tired and so tired of myself and so tired of being stuck and stuck in this body and somebody different on the outside from what I feel inside. I just want to ball up and cry.

Had a sleeve in 2017, lost over 100 pounds. Had a DS surgery this year (2025) for more sustainable weight loss. 🤞

The 14th was my day. I am home and recovery is going pretty smooth. They even let me walk out of the hospital. Picture of me in recovery curtesy of my boyfriend lol.

Neat you have a pic of this day! I was sooo happy to get my surgery. It was well worth it! And I'm not even near my goal. I had surgery Dec. 2!
