jenniferedmon 1 Posted August 22, 2010 Hi My name is Jennifer and I am scheduled to have a gastric sleeve done in Juarez, Mexico by Dr. Jose Rodriguez. Has anyone used him or belightweight for this procedure? I am 5 foot 2 inches and am currently 250 pounds. I am hoping to lose 100 pounds or more with the sleeve. Does anyone know if this is possible? Or should I really consider Gastric Bypass? Any information would help me a lot. Not to dissuade you, but definitely check out that doctor and the facility where you are having the surgery. My husband is a nurse at a hospital in El Paso. He had a patient that went to Juarez for bariatric surgery and ended up having a major infection landing her in the hospital stateside. It was pretty yucky from what he told me. a.walker 2 Posted August 24, 2010 I had gastric sleeve done with Dr. Rodriguez in Tijuana and went through Beliteweight, as well. Everything went just like they said it would. I am 1 month out, have lost 21 lbs. in that month. I also have a lot to lose, but didn't really consider the bypass something I wanted. I don't like the idea of malabsorption, and I also liked that with the VSG, they remove the part of the stomach where Grehlin is produced. xstylinnomoneyx 0 Posted August 24, 2010 I had the VSG with Jose Rodriguez on 8/16. I had no major problems. My only thing was the pain. Of course I did have major surgery!
