escapesunshine 0 Posted August 20, 2010 I am looking for a good dance workout video/DVD. Any recommendation. Do they have good music to dance too?
Tiffykins 673 Posted August 20, 2010 Hip Hop Abs is my favorite and has been for years. I attribute my stomach tissues/skin/muscles recovering so well post-op sleeve and major weight loss to those DVDs. You can find them on ebay.com (I just got a new set a couple months back) for $20 and free shipping. The music is more like pop music and not hardcore hip hop. It's dancing with a lot of focus on core and ab work.
sleeve 4 me 910 Posted August 20, 2010 OK don't laugh, but I really like Richard Simmons :-). He is so encouraging and it's awesome to see some big girls working out, it helps me to keep going. I have the 80's music one which is great. And the sweating to the oldies too (which I have yet to open hahahaha), only because I really love my 80's music :-). LovinLife 0 Posted August 29, 2010 @ shrinkinggrl - I've heard so many people say how much they love Zumba! Do you own the DVD's or do you participate in a class?
Papillon 7 Posted August 29, 2010 If you have a Wii Just Dance is really fun too. It doesn't require anything extra just the wii controller. :w00t:

shrinkinggrl 0 Posted September 3, 2010 @Lovinlife: I have the dvds. re: wii just dance....I thought I'd like it but I don't. My controllers don't register half the moves so I never get a good score, and I thought there would be more instruction. It is just trial by fire.
Oregondaisy 2,021 Posted September 3, 2010 I am another one in favor of Zumba. I can buy the DVDs and do it at home, but I know I wouldn't do it. I love the classes.
Swiftflow 6 Posted September 3, 2010 when is it safe to exercise Check with your doc to be sure, but my doc had me wait 6 weeks to do anything more than brisk walking.
BlaqBeary 23 Posted September 5, 2010 Do you all remember in the early 80's the :20 minute workout that came on TV? I believe it was channel 5 here in the Los Angeles area. Well the other night I found a website that no longer sold the tapes of it, but allows you to download for free. I downloaded it and have it on my laptop. When I use it, I just turn on my laptop and get to moving. I remember the days doing this every single morning. I was only 16/17 years, but I loved it and so glad I found it. I am looking for a good dance workout video/DVD. Any recommendation. Do they have good music to dance too?
StaySea 2 Posted September 11, 2010 I have one I don't recommend. I tried 2 of the Carmen Electra Aerobic Strip Tease DVD's before. I thought that would be fun dancing to get my heart rate up but they moved kind of slow and I didn't feel I got much cardio from them. Maybe it was just me but I don't recommend those. Not dancing but I like the Biggest Loser DVD's- weight loss yoga and boot camp kick my butt what I bust those out (especially after not doing them for a while!)
