Tomorrow is the Big DAY

Recommended Posts

I am freaking out tomorrow is the big day. I have lost 6 pounds in the last 5 days from the post op surgery diet. WOOHOO. I can't wait to be on the losers bench but I still have a little worry in the back of my head. This is crazy...I want the surgery but I am worried about any complications.

YAY!!! What an exciting day. I remember the night before my surgery, being so excited and afraid of the unknown. You will do great. The first little while can be rough for some. Do your best not to compare yourself to others. Surgery and recovery will soon be a distant memory for you and you can focus on having a little booty!

You are having totally normal feelings. Just have confidence in your decision and your surgeon. Can't wait to hear how it goes & to watch your progress.

Baby girl it is perfectly normal to be nervous. Just make peace with yourself and God (if you so believe) and then a calmness will come over you like you will never believe.

Oh BTW Congrats on the weight loss.

Well I am back home and everything went well. I was so well taken care of it was unbelieveable. Between my husband and the hospital staff it was an amazing experience. I am on full liquids until I see my doctor in two weeks.

Thanks for all the good wishes they really did help a lot. Continue to keep me in your thoughts and prayers.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
