vanishingvixen 40 Posted August 18, 2010 Greetingsssss!! I'm a newbie here - a transplant from the LapBand talk forum. Somewhere along the approval process, I decided to go with the VSG - and couldn't be more excited. My surgery date is 9/21 (Potomac Hospital in Woodbridge, VA. Dr. Denis Halmi). I'm required to do a 2 wk pre-op liquid fast (Opti Fast) that really has me nervous - wondering if I can cope (the 2wks post op should be a cake walk, all things considered) I'm really curious to hear other's stories who have had the surgery...and those on the path. My main blog is: The Vanishing Vixen - but I already know I'll be fairly active here. Looking forward to great things & new friends!

thinoneday 445 Posted August 18, 2010 Hi welcome ! Your going to do great! Most of us are great, some like to stir the pot at times, but heck it's your forum family and what family doesn't squabble. . . like citizenwill said it's a great forum and you will get tons of info here if you want. . . i'm out now 8 months and have lost tons of weight and still going. . . you'll find ups and downs on your journey, that's for sure, I just had a 3 1/2 month stall. . . not fun, but as long as your determined and willing to help yourself you'll win this journey. . . good luck and once again a big warm WELCOME!!!! wannalise 16 Posted August 18, 2010 Welcome welcome! This is a great place to come for support and to give support as well. The preop diet can be rough in fact I made the liver retractor my screen saver on my computer before my surgery to stay focused! Be patient with yourself both pre and post op. This is a learning experience and you won't always get it right and on those days we are right here to cheer you on! Anna
