:scared0:

Finally! I am 133lbs!! Total time including the 2 months prior to the op dieting was 17 months to lose 118lbs although from my very heaviest before I started logging I was 256lbs which means a loss of 123lbs. I only claim the 118 figure though as I can totally verify this one.

It has been a great journey and I thank all the people here who have helped, from my lurking days nearly a year and a half ago to now. I wish MacMadame was still here as she was a great help to me back then when I was researching the route to take.

I wish all of you still losing all speed to get to your goals too, and enjoy the changes in you as they happen. And don't forget to tell us all about it!!

Mucho happiness.

Jane xx

What does "stroppy" mean, Jane?

Ah thats an UK Englishism

The origin is shortened obstreperous

And it means hard to deal with or control; angry, unruly, impudent! :sad0::lol0:

Hi Jane

Well Done . I am so pleased for you. Great to here of success over here in the UK, especially as the sleeve isn't so well known here. It helps so much to read of your success!!!

I hope when I start my journey that I can be successful too ........ reading success stories helps so much.

Take care

Hi Sue,

Thanks for the comment. When and where do you get VSG'd? I would love to 'raise awareness' (that sounds so facile doesn't it?) of this OK in the UK but don't really know where to start. I comment where I can when WLS comes up but the media only seems to promote or publicise the band and the bypass! I have no idea why apart from their complete laziness.

Hi Jane,

I'm having my WLS surgery done at the Charing Cross Hospital in London on the 6th October. The sleeve is now one of the operations offered as standard to their patients. They offer the band, bypass and the Sleeve. I have to have the Sleeve as I have Crohns Disease, but I had already made that decision about wanting the Sleeve after doing lots of my own research into WLS. Charing Cross Hospital has won an Award for Excellence in Bariatric Surgery, and I will be opearted on by the Lead Surgeon there Mr Ahmed. (I hope my information helps you.)

I do agree that the Sleeve is 'under mentioned' in the media in the UK. I know that the Daily Express and Daily Mail often run readers experiences in their papers, if you felt that you would like to talk about your experience. However I realise that isn't something that everyone would do. I think TV and media articles would help a lot but its choosing the right platform that would suit WLS the best.

I wish you every success in raising awareness of the Sleeve in the UK.

Let me know how you get on.

Take Care

Sue

Hi Sue, that is brilliant news. I will see if I can contact the Mail as I think it's more widely read by women, who seem to be far more open to these things;-)

Cheers,

Hi, I’m new here. I’m currently on the liver shrinking diet. So far so good, but I have to say I haven’t found a protein shake I like. Anyone have any suggestions please? My surgery date is September 17th.

Fairlife Core are by far the best. They taste just as they are - chocolate milk. You can either get the 26 grams or the 42 grams (harder to find and more expensive). For straight protein look at Bulksuppliments.com ..they have really good whey proteins and offer auto ship plus they test for purity. No taste or smell...

      2. BlondePatriotInCDA

Fairlife has strawberry, vanilla and of course chocolate. No more calories than other protein drinks. Stay away from Premiere, they're dealing with lawsuits due to not being honest about protein content.
