Recommended Posts

:sad0:Another stale are you kidding me. it's been longer than 2 weeks since I've lost I just dont get it. Im wondering if I made the wrong decision and should have went with the gastric bypass instead of the sleeve. I wrk out all the time and I cant break the 200lbs mark. Considering going back to an all liquid diet, bad idea???????

patience patience....everything will be fine....your sleeve is fine...and your stall is perfectly normal....keep up with the exercise and before you know it, you'll start seeing the scale move. so don't lose hope!!!

I'm sorry you are having to deal with this! As far as I have read it is normal to hit that point. But one this I have seen a lot is people start lowering their carb in take and it gets the ball rolling again. Good luck! Keep us updated.

If you're calorie deficient all the time, your body may need more calories.

If you're building muscle, you're probably losing inches. Have you noticed your clothes fitting differently? A pound is a pound. If you lose a pound of fat, but you're gaining a pound of lean muscle, it evens out on the scale. This is why measurements make such a huge difference. Fat is bulky, bumpy where muscle is lean and slim.

I typically tell people the same thing when they stall. shake things up for a few days. Add 50-100 calories per day for a few days then drop back down. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't.

Stalls happen with gastric bypass as well.

I know stalls can be frustrating. I have been my current weight for months now and am trying everything I can to get the ball rolling. I just started loosing again and really want to keep going in the same direction. All I can say is stick with the exercise, eat ALL of your Protein, drink Water, and like Tiffykins said, its all about how your clothes fit. You could bee loosing inches and fat, but gaining muscle. Physically, its more about how your clothes fit and how your shape looks vs actual weight in lbs/kg.

Good Luck and don't worry, it will happen.

Hey...

I ma feeling your pain... I too haven't lost an ounce for the best part of 4 weeks, I am 6 weeks out today!! I agree it is frustrating, but the wise words posted here are good and true. I took measurements a couple of days ago!! I have lowered my carbs and starting to do more exercise so fingers crossed I will see some more movement soon.

However, in saying that... my clothes are feeling looser and that is really encouraging.

Mommyof4 how much have youlost to date... perhaps focus on that instead of looking at what you haven't done... just an idea?? Let us know how you get on as I am sure things wil get better... for both of us x

If your stalling now with the sleeve you would also be stalling with the bypass. You would be getting less calories absorbed and it may in fact be worse--the common thread you see with all of the weight loss surgeries is stall threads, same threads you see on extreem low cal diet threads too. With all the exercise I am willing to bet your calories are way too low and your body is in starvation mode. If your really working out all the time you may need to get 1000 calories or more in.

These stalls are so frustrating sometimes I just want to tear my hair out (I'm scared to though because it would probably come right off my head).

I have a friend who had bypass last year and the number one thing she complains about is that she has stalls. I'm in one too and going nuts.

I exercise a lot too... sometimes 3x per day and I litterally climb mountains on my 3 days off a week. I think that even though I eat 100 - 1200 calories a day I may need more. Who knows. Hopefully we will all look back in a year and laugh at how upset we got.

hang in there

My scale is moving verrrrry slowly but I went shopping for jeans tonight and went down 2 sizes. Check your inches. remember that weight is not a good measurement. Muscle is more dense than fat and takes less space.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!

Hi everyone! I’m brand new here. I just went through all my pre-op requirements per my insurance company and now everything has been submitted and I’m just waiting for final approval and my surgery date. I’ve been doing research, watching YouTube videos, TikTok’s, ect.. trying to prepare my mind and what to expect so I’ll be ready for the surgery. I was so sure and so set and so ready and excited. However, now that I’ve done everything & it’s almost here, I am sooooooo scared! I know why I want it bc I’ve tried everything and I just don’t feel like I can lose weight by myself. I’m tired of being overweight my entire life. I’m miserable, but I keep psyching myself out afraid of GERD bc I know how that can be and I don’t want to have to get a bypass after already gaining the courage to even get VSG. I’m scared of complications like I’mgoing to regret doing it and be depressed that I didn’t just be more disciplined and try again to lose the weight on my own even sitting here typing this knowing in my mind i just can’t and don’t possess the discipline. I’m also afraid I won’t be able to handle the restrictions of the sleeve. What do I eat? I don’t know how to eat healthy really and don’t enjoy healthy food. I don’t know how to do this! I feel so defeated!Someone tell me they felt anything similar to this or am I not ready? I thought I was. I am so tired of being sick and tired and so tired of myself and so tired of being stuck and stuck in this body and somebody different on the outside from what I feel inside. I just want to ball up and cry.

Am feeling this right now. My surgery date is 4/1. Sign the consent tomorrow. I feel like I overloaded myself with too much info, too many opinions. Got to the point where I was wondering if I should do this. Then I thought of my reasons for taking this step and that settled my nerves. Still get moments of doubt but am striving forward. Am just going to follow my book from the surgeon. Joined this because I was told by my dietician that I should do this for support
