I made my first post in the wrong section.

I am 61, was banded almost 4 years ago at 327 up in NY and now weight 233, but live in FL.

I have been having problems with PB's since my second band adjustment and due to the lack of doctors doing Bariactric surgery in my area, I have to travel over 100 miles for all lap-band related problems.

I had my band emptied yesterday because I was drowning in my own saliva while sleeping. An under the pillow wedge stopped being effective and even sleeping in a recliner didn't solve the problem. I am having an endoscopy two days from now.

First - congrats on such an awesome weight loss!

After an unfill you should remain on liquids for at least 1 to 2 days as I am sure your aware of. I am sorry you are going through this & think that your scope will tell you the true story. I will say a prayer for you that it is nothing to worry about & all that is needed is maybe less of a fill. God Bless & keep us informed.

You may also wish to place this post additionally under the lap band complication's section, where others too may help.

I will start a thread in the Lap-Band Complications Section as you suggested and I will link it to this post.

Thanks for the warm welcome.

My doctor informed me that I tested negative for H. Pylori.

So in about a month, I will see how my weight is doing and then decide what to do about a fill.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
