Exercise = sick

Recommended Posts

Hello all. I was just wondering if any one else has this issue and if there is any thing to do about it?

So when I work out I wind up getting sick, like I get super nauseous and light headed and if I don't curl up in a ball and go to sleep I throw up (TMI I?m sorry). I seem okay (don?t need to lie down but still not feeling great) when I just do cardio. When I work on strength training it gets worse and when I do any ab works outs just forget it I am in bed the next few hours. I thought it might be low blood sugar or something so I have tried eating before and after work out plus testing my sugar levels but they were fine (no I am not diabetic and have been tested for that) I also have great blood pressure so I don?t think it is that. My only guess is that I am getting over heated but I don?t see how my abs would affect that.

HELP I want to work out but it is hard to motivate your self to do something that you know is going to make you sick.:)

hi, mmm i definitely think you should see the doctor and have him run some tests.....it's not normal for you to get sooo tired. have you tried only some brisk walking? and then maybe wait until you get a bit more in shape and try something different.

We weren't cleared for the kind of exercise you are doing until 6 weeks out--probably because of what you are experiencing. You are still healing, you shouldn't be straining your abdominal muscles. Just walk a lot.

I mistook your diet date for your surgery date--I see now that you are pre-op. Yes, see your doctor. And take it easy.

Unfortunatly I have talked to both DR's and trainers and no answeres from them )I think that all think I am nuts and it is all in my head), thats why I thought I would post on here. and yes I am fine with brisk walking its more the ab work out and weight training, and its not that I really get tired just sick, I guess the best way to describe the way it feels is almost like being motion sick.

Donna,

LOL NOOOOO I most definatly would not be doing anything like that that soon after surgery and I would totaly expect you to yell at me if I had posted something like that.

This thread hits on a topic that many “experts” fail to understand or take into consideration when advising all people “to exercise more”. The things many professional fail to realize many people spent years doing manual labor. After years of lifting, bending, digging, and carrying for 8 -12 hours a day 6 days a week can cause a person to gain weight when these joints give out and no longer exercise. Another misconception is people gain weight because they are lazy and can’t stop eating, when in fact many of us are eating the normal calories but no longer use as much energy as we did working, over the years the pounds pack on ( genetics don’t help either). I am a 45 year old female who carried my part alongside men mostly because I was big framed and could do the work but I want to say I am feeling it now. After years of lifting drywall and monkey labor, I don’t want to walk because of my aching back and blown out ankles hips etc. My 2 cents. :D

Something similar used to happen to me. I'd too was tested for diabetes, thyroids and loads of other things and nothing. When finally I convinced a doctor that it wasn't in my head he ordered an oral glucose tolerance test(OGTT), it's not just a normal diabetes test, they load you with glucose orally and take blood samples before and i think 30 and 60 min after

the glucose load. I ended up with a diagnosis of insulin resistance( a type of prediabetes) that was due to my obesity and bad eating habits. I was put on a diet and started feeling better, that was a big scare for me and influenced my decision to get sleeved. If you haven't had this specific test done I would strongly advice you to ask for it, I was sick and tired of being treated like a nutcase :o

Large amounts of anabolic (muscle-building) exercise can trigger HGH "dumps," which can lead to vomiting. Bodybuilders have known about this for years (pump till you puke being an operative phrase). I used to have this happen to me quite frequently when I was a bodybuilder in my 20's (these days I'm far too lazy to work hard enough to throw up!)

You should definitely talk to your doctor about this, but if there's no other cause found, it may be a simple HGH dump.

      Hi, I’m new here. I’m currently on the liver shrinking diet. So far so good, but I have to say I haven’t found a protein shake I like. Anyone have any suggestions please? My surgery date is September 17th.

        Fairlife Core are by far the best. They taste just as they are - chocolate milk. You can either get the 26 grams or the 42 grams (harder to find and more expensive). For straight protein look at Bulksuppliments.com ..they have really good whey proteins and offer auto ship plus they test for purity. No taste or smell...

      2. BlondePatriotInCDA

        Fairlife has strawberry, vanilla and of course chocolate. No more calories than other protein drinks. Stay away from Premiere, they're dealing with lawsuits due to not being honest about protein content.
