Great! I have yet to start shopping for clothes with my new size. I'm sort of dreading it! It "'feels" like the past times of shopping and being disappointed and critical of myself. I usually couldn't find clothes at Thrift stores that would work for my big size, but always saw cute smaller sized clothing, of course wishing the whole time if only........ I'm so glad you found that many nice things for 30.00! That is totally awesome! One day, I will be forced to go clothes shopping out of necessitiy.:svengo:

Thrift stores have some awesome deals and if you look hard, some really high end items. It's great for dropping sizes quickly.

I went garage sale shopping, and thrift store shopping, I bought two brand new skirts, and a pair of capris for $1.00 each. I tried going to Goodwill because here the first Saturday of the month everything is half off, and today was tax free days, but it was to much of a zoo for me so I turned around and walked out. I have not had my sleeve yet, but every other week I go garage sale shopping and pick up items that I like in smaller sizes that are $1.00 and under. I know what you mean about never finding anything a thrift stores in plus sizes, and when you do they are usually very worn out, or just look like (no offense) granny clothes.

I live in New Orleans, so I am blessed to have a large plus size section with lots of selection in the thrift store.

You are lucky. I visited New Orleans last Christmas, I really enjoyed it there. I live in a small town in Tennessee, and I think there are just alot of plus size women, that when something comes in to our thrift stores all (2 of them) it is gone fast. When I have garage sales I usually sell all of my plus size clothes. I love thrift store shopping, and will love it even more when I can wear normal womens clothes. :w00t:

That's fabulous! I love thrift stores, especially when I'm changing sizes so quickly, no way will I pay retail, and I find all kinds of great clothes. There's a plus size retail store here in town, most of their stuff is fairly high end, and a little more expensive, but really nice. And I'm guaranteed to find things in my size!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
