I have, I don't recommend it. I blogged the entire experiance and I'm happy to give you the link if you PM me as I don't know about posting rules in this forum.

I lost 22lbs in 29 days. It was extremely hard, I was starving and miserable the entire time. I ended up putting every bit back on (and then some) and I did follow the protocol to the T. It's a complete scam in my opinion and just messes your metabolism up even more.

The HCG does nothing to subdue hunger at all, I've used injectable HCG many times as an infertility treatment while trying to get pregnant. A decrease in hunger was never one of the side effects, and I took it in way higher doses than pounds and inches calls for during infertility treatments.

I do believe that the HCG helps your body to release fat as I've seen many obese people lose weight during pregnancy; both my sister and my sister in law. I've also seen the same thing happen to a friend of mine. On average they all lost about 30lbs each during pregnancy.

HCG probably does contribute to easier loss of fat but you are literarily starving yourself at a mere 500 calories a day. Just think about what that does to your body.

The only way to maintain the weight loss with the HCG diet is to do the diet over and over again.

Coming from someone with experience; please don't try it, you'll just gain it all back and probably more. I followed the diet to a T before during and after and I'm 17lbs heavier than I was when I started that diet over a year ago:thumbdown:.

I'd recommend fruta planta over HCG any day.

Thanks Alish I was curious about the effectiveness of it, my sister just told me yesterday that her stepdaughter who is 14 and has been overweight since toddler years was taking it since beginning of summer vacation and lost 20 pounds so far. I think I had watched a program about it a couple years ago but did not remember much. I will PM you about your link. I don't think they mind links posted as long as your not selling something or linking porn hehe.

I wonder how it would work along with the sleeve since your already getting the calorie restriction?

I know the sleeve will work. I am just so flipping impatient. I have a family vacation planned in October which should have been 4 months after my surgery but after my complications and rescheduling I only will have two months of losing before I go :) With the fact that I am a low BMI'er I know I wont probably loose as much as I wanted by then!

I wonder if I waited a month for tummy to heal then did the HCG with the sleeve for a month if I would be successful. I will have to ask my doc that.

blush

I'm a low BMIer also so I now what you mean! I'm very impatient, especially if I have a function or something to go to. That was my main reason for doing the HCG diet in the first place; we were having a huge family party for my 2 sons and my Nephew's birthday. I SO wanted to lose some weight before that so I did the HCG and lost about 20 by that time.

I don't know about adding the HCG with the sleeve, I personally wouldn't recommend it as your body has to take time for the hormones to adjust after the sleeve. I can't imagine throwing another thing in there for your body to deal with along with getting used to it's new stomach.

Maybe 6 months after the surgery, but not within the first few months.

That's my take on it anyway, I'd just let myself get used to the sleeve first.

I've never had a problem losing weight once my body got started even being at a low BMI. It was just getting it to start losing that was hard. So I wouldn't get to worried about not losing fast enough, you may lose fast, you never know. Throwing some exercise in wouldn't hurt and should speed up the loss.

I hope you have fantastic fast results from your sleeve:thumbup:

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
