Rummblie in my Tummy... Stomach Growling normal?

Recommended Posts

When I woke up from my lap band surgery...I was starved. It seemed at first that I didnt even have a band!! I seem to be having a much easier time than most ( knock on wood). I dont really have issues eating anything so far. As a matter of fact I made turkey chilli today...and it was heaven. I havent had my first fill yet..and I refuse to get on the scale...I think its nothing but trouble. I get full and stop...and I stay fuller longer...So far..Im pretty happy.

But the rubling in my tummy cause me to be unab;e to go to sleep last night I had yo get up and get some broth for it to settle down, is that wrong?

No, it's not wrong. I was told that if your body is telling you that it's hungry at night and it bothers you then you should go ahead and try to have a small amount of something healthy. Perhaps you can modify your "eating schedule" so that you are having some Protein closer to bedtime, that may help. Just an idea.

Oh my goodness! My tummy woke me up this morning! I think that is pretty cool. I have not had that happen in years!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
