pokerchick 0 Posted July 30, 2010 Hello All, I had my lap band removed, gallbladder taken out and sleeved all at once. The first nite in the hospital was rough. The pain meds thorugh the IV were just not cutting it, so they gave me liquid hydrocodon which is doing way better. I must say that this was more painful than just the band but I am trying to keep in mind that I had 3 procedures done at once. I have been getting in all of my fluids possibley more than the 40oz reccomended. I do feel some acid refulx so i am taking prilosec OTC, gas X strips and liquid hydrocodon. When I take the liquid hydro it seems to aggrivate the acid a bit, and it sort of burn going down so I usually chase it with cold Water which helps. I have been taking my temp and not running a fever and I have been getting up and walking around as much as I can. The pain I'm in seems like I just did 1000 sit ups type soreness. Hopefully I will be feeling better each day. Does anyone feel that there is something else I should be doing for the acid or in general?
Donna4545 13 Posted July 30, 2010 Ask for an Rx strength anti-acid. I'm taking Protonix 40mg. The pills are really small. You have gone through a LOT. Test and recover. Keep us posted! If you're still in the hospital ask for a morphine pump. There's no reason to be in pain.

emilygrace 5 Posted July 31, 2010 I got my sleeve on the same day :001_smile: but no other procedures. Found the IV morphine did the job, only needed it for a day and a half then tylenol only.
