beachgirl 2 Posted June 6, 2006 I need your help. Janet told me there was no need in any preop diet with Dr. Sanchez but everyone here says they are on a preop diet. What is a person to do? Also, I read the thread about what to eat and buy for afterwards and I got my pain medicine that I take now on a daily basis (from neck surgery) Loritab, in liquid formula today will that work instead of pills? Thank you everyone, suppose to be banded July 21st, Sherri
lianna 3 Posted June 6, 2006 I had no preop diet. I was also banded by Dr. Sanchez! I have nothing but good to say him or any of the staff! Some docs require a preop diet and some dont.

kristielynn 1 Posted June 6, 2006 For my pre-op diet was 3 or 4 slim fast and a garden salad. And that was for 2 weeks. So good luck with that it is TOUGH.

Mvpo8961 1 Posted June 6, 2006 My preop diet was the phase 1 on the South Beach diet. My liver was nicely shrunk and flexible according to my doc. I was on the preop for 9 days. Myra
beautifultina 1 Posted June 6, 2006 my surgeon required us to be on a liquid diet for two weeks pre op. now that takes commitment...best of luck to you on your upcomming surgery.
nolagirl2 0 Posted June 6, 2006 I had liquid diet 2 days pre-op, nothing after midnight day of surgery
Plainsneech 0 Posted June 6, 2006 No Preop with Barix Clinics. Just Clear Liquids noon the day before and NPO at midnight before
*susan* 1,709 Posted June 6, 2006 I had to do Physician's Weight Loss liquid only diet for 2 1/2 weeks pre-op. However, every doctor seems to have a different pre and post-op diet plan. I would recommend you go by whatever he/she tells you to do. If you are unsure, then call them.
sleepyjean 0 Posted June 6, 2006 I didn't have a pre-op diet and my dr. prescribed lortab afterward. It's good stuff, but it made me verrrry sleepy
FunnyDuddies 6 Posted June 6, 2006 I am also going to be banded by dr. sanchez. I know that they do not require a preop diet, but i plan on doing one anyways, just to make the surgery easier on dr. sanchez. Anything I can do to make things go smoothly, I am all for it. My plan is a liquid diet of broth, Protein Drinks, cucumber and pineapple drink, and lots of Water and green tea for two weeks before the surgery. That way my liver will be nice and shrunk, and my body will be well detoxified.
gentlespirit 1 Posted June 6, 2006 I was supposed to lose 5-10 pounds pre-op, but my doc didn't give me any specifics on how to accomplish that. I was liquids only the day before surgery. Emily
