A question for those that are Post-op

Recommended Posts

We had an inground pool when we lived in Texas and I'm spoiled, I like to be able to see the bottom of whatever I'm in....and I like to know MY husband is taking care of all the chemicals!! LOL Yes, nice and clean. Public pools and spas. Ugh, oh, and waterparks. OMG :w00t: Galveston is our favorite place to go, but I only walk in the surf, love to watch the waves and hear them....you won't catch me any further!!

Well, good to hear that your trip won't be ruined by not being able to swim with your family! Strangely my incisions were healed after two weeks! Maybe I've found my super hero strength!!!lol Or mabye it was the constant use of Neosporin...either way, two weeks and my incisions were closed and getting meds for scarring!

As for your vaca...I'm sure that everything will go well, just take things easy and don't be afraid to ask for help.

Have fun!!

Merry

How strange that he said that you couldn't swim! I went to my Dr. for a 2 weeks visit and he said that I could start swimming that day. And I have to say...I've gone to the pool at least 3 times since then and haven't had a problem.

Merry

That is crazy I had to wait until the scabs were 100% gone before I could soak in the tub let alone a pool.

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
