SeattleSue 25 Posted July 30, 2011 Hi, my name is Susan and I'm 43 years old, have been married 19 years to a wonderful man and we have 2 amazing sons; 16 and 14. I often say "in spite of us" and "but for God" they have managed to turn out to be remarkable young men. I'm a Joyce AND a Beth Moore fan too!! And I'm just so happy to be sleeved and able to break free of all the things that I've allowed to sort of push me into and hold me down, in this fat but safe prison I've made for myself. I wish I would have known about the VSG earlier, but I also know that I was not in the right place...but that NOW is the time. I'm so excited...a little nervous, but ready to face everything because I know that I am in good hands. As of today, I'm 3 weeks & 2 days post-op. I'm in a stall...and while I'm trying to hush the 'freak-out' voice in my head...I'm taking this time to focus on "other" things and praying that I don't change one obsession with food into a different flavor obsession with food (or "weight-loss"). A slippery slope for me... I've read every post in this thread and I see I am in very good company! Happy to be here! Susan

Susan Welcome Ahhhh the dreaded 3 week stall...just keep on keeping on and it will break! I too wish I had known about VSG waaaay earlier in life, I would have totally had it done at 29 yrs. old right after my daughter was born. It's all good, I really really do feel my latter is definitely greater than my former and I'm now walking in all the blessings God has for me
nowatgoal 77 Posted August 2, 2011 Hi. I'm Sara. I'm 44 years old and have struggled with my weight most of my adult life. I have managed to drop all my weight (60 - 90 lbs) at least three times only to gain it all back very, very quickly. I am excited to finally be done with the battle. I hope to be a nice, normal weight by my 45th birthday in Feb. 2012. What a gift to myself.<div><br></div><div>I have a grown daughter, 19, from a previous marriage. And am engaged to the love of my life who has four young boys. I'm going to need the energy of a fit body for my growing family!</div>

nowatgoal 77 Posted August 3, 2011 Hi Sara, Congrats on all accounts! Susan Thanks, Seattle Sue. I grew up on Whidbey Island - I'm in Tucson now, but I sure miss the NW. When did you have your surgery? I'm scheduled for Aug. 22nd and I'm starting to get butterflies (but in a good way)... Oops, never mind - I found your post and see that you're four weeks out from your surgery. Big sigh - wish I was there with you at that point. Feel like there is so much I need to get through in the next 6 weeks. Keep up the great work. It looks like you're doing amazing!

Sleevie WonderLand 41 Posted August 10, 2011 I just happened to bump up on this thread cause I was stalkin Seattle Sue! *lookin around to see if she sees me* I will be 41 in December and have been proud to shout to the world for the past 8 months that I am 40 years old! I have four children; my oldest who are girls, 18 and 15. My younger children are boys, and they are 6 and 4. I call the boys Terror and Mayhem. The girls are Mastercard & Visa. I'm married to THE MOST caring and supportive person on this planet. Our 9th anniversary will be on September 1st. (for those of you doing the math, my older children were from a previous relationship, lol). I woke up on my 40th birthday feeling brand new. It's funny because I was dreading the big Four Oh for quite some time. I woke up with the word FORTITUDE on my mind. I made it to forty and I decided that I was gonna have a great attitude about it. I had visions of making up t-shirts that read "Forty Tude" on them, but that project fell to the wayside. (I'm famous for that!) Anywhoo, that's me in a nutshell. Trying to get sleeved so I can make it to live in my Fiftytude, Sixtytude, etc... 1 Shoppingbeemom reacted to this
