Number50 0 Posted July 25, 2010 I was sleeved on Friday, stayed at the hospital one night, and came home yesterday. My stomach feels tender, and as if someone punched it if I try to take my liquids, cough or burp without using pain meds. But, the pain meds have enabled me to start sipping again. The gas is also a little painful, mainly a tight feeling in my abdomen until it passes. I'm on hydrocodone/apap, but I don't take it constantly, just when I feel miserable. I am hoping that this passes soon, but I am not surprised. After all, 85% of my stomach was cut out. Just one question - is my experience similar to y'alls? clk 3,519 Posted July 25, 2010 (edited) Pretty much. I was in the hospital three nights, but I was in a bit of pain the evenings of day two and day three. I came home and was pretty tender - hiccups hurt like the devil, I couldn't bend at the waist or lift my arms above my head without discomfort. I was on pain pills as needed for a few days but by about 6 days post op I felt fine. I'm 10 days out and if I overdo it I get tender where my incisions are, if I drink something too cold my sleeve tightens up painfully and I still can't comfortably sleep on my side but other than that I'm back to normal. Sip, sip, sip and walk, walk, walk. You'll be back to normal soon. ~Cheri Edited July 25, 2010 by clk clarification
kansas1973 1 Posted July 25, 2010 I was sleeved on Wednesday, and I spent one night in the hospital. I'm having very similar symptoms; pain at the incision sites, gas, and pain when I try to cough or sip. There is no way I could possibly get 60 grams of Protein in at this point; I'm happy with half that. I figure that as the swelling goes down, I'll be able to get more in. Hang in there, ladies!!
