calibre 0 Posted July 21, 2010 I got sleeved yesterday and this is NOT what I expected. I've always been the "tough girl" type. I thought I had a very high pain tolerance, but I guess not! The worst part is the bloating and pain that radiates in my shoulder. Thanks to the advice of everyone on here, I've trying to walk as much as possible and that seems to help. Just tell me it will get better soon!!
cwalker 12 Posted July 21, 2010 Have you tried the gas-x strips? Otc at walmart/walgreens or any drugstore. Take your pain meds, rest, sip, walk, hang in there it does get better.

mila1013 0 Posted July 22, 2010 what you are feeling is from the CO2 that they inflate your abdominal cavity with. It will disipate in a couple of days, try to walk around as much as you can, and I know those deep breaths hurt a lot but keep doing them 10xs an hour so you do not develop pneumonia. I have had 3 interabdominal surgeries, that CO2 hurts for a few days and radiates to the shoulders, it is a stabbing pain, know it is normal and will go away... calibre 0 Posted July 22, 2010 Thank you so much for the advice. I've never, ever posted to anything but have been here "lurking" for too long. Everyone here is so helpful and I feel like I know all of you.
Bit of a Diva 0 Posted July 22, 2010 It absolutely does get better soon! I think it took exactly 7 days before I felt just about 100% better. I thought I was pretty tough too, but being so uncomfortable made me wimper & cry uncle. One thing that helped with the gas was to have someone rub my back. Yep just like a baby the more my back was patted and rubbed the more the gas came up and out. Congrats on your new life and hang in there!
MINI-Me 196 Posted July 22, 2010 Sorry to hear you are having issues. I had terrible shoulder pain as well. The good news is that it really does end quickly.
