caeleb 0 Posted June 5, 2006 I'm 43, have a BMI of 32 and s strong family history of diabetes. I got the intragastric balloon and have lost about 10 lbs in a month. Thing is, I have to get it removed in 5 months. It's so nice to not have to will my body not to eat all the time. I want a normal BMI to escape the family curse of diabetes, and am considering the band for a more permanent solution. Any feedback?
paula 4 Posted June 5, 2006 Gosh Caleb, I think YOU are the only one that can answer this question. Yes, weight loss should help with your family curse (diabetes), but HOW you chose to lose weight needs to be your decision. The band is designed to limit calorie intake = resulting in weightloss. But as SO many of us have said, having the band is not a final solution. 2 years out and Im taking diet pills to maintain weightloss... Good luck!
