KathyM 14 Posted July 21, 2010 I know this sounds like a broken record, but really walk, walk, walk - it really will help! I hope you feel better soon!!! Kathy
imagine.dream.inspire 0 Posted July 21, 2010 Yup. Walk and walk some more. That is the only thing that will get rid of the gas and the pressure. I was walking the day following surgery around the hospital and going round and round in my hospital room at night. Even when I got home I still had gas and again, it was walking, walking, walking. After a few days it feels better.
DallMike 0 Posted July 21, 2010 Walking will help get rid of the gas. If you have actual pain, keep using the liquid lortab. I'm on my third bottle. Dosage down to every 12 hrs so I'm doing better than 1st week when it was every 4 hrs. Also, find a real medical supply pharmacy and get a stomach binder! It was a life saver for me. Night one the wife sacrificed one of her control top panty hose for me. God bless her:biggrin0: Hang in there but don't hesitate to call the docs office. That's what they are for. Access to a hand held shower helps too.
stcyt 15 Posted July 21, 2010 It sucks now, but I promise it gets better quickly. I was feeling pretty good by day 3 (not marathon running good, just walk around the block good). I hate to tell you though.... it was about 7 days before the gas was really gone.
SParkle 4 Posted July 21, 2010 Congratulations! As the others say, it does get easier... each day gets easier. Good luck
JudyM 2 Posted July 22, 2010 The trapped gas hurts, but as others have said, the walking really helps it to disperse. I didn't know that my lungs would feel restricted, but had some great help on here, to breathe in through your nose, and blow out of your mouth as hard as you can - this also helps to disperse the gas. Good luck and keep your chin up!
