Has anyone felt like they aren't...

I did my monthly weigh-in yesterday. 169.2. That's 16 pounds since June 28 (2 days pre-op) and 14 since just before my surgery (1 day clear fluids 1 day nothing by mouth.) I feel OK. My "goal" for August is 10lbs but I know I only have partial control. I'm doing most things right (could be exercising more) and trying to remember that this is a marathon, not a sprint.

I totally agree, the scales stopped moving for me when I started eating regular food for almost 2 weeks, then started again loosing about 3-4 lbs a month. Not gang busters, but it is still moving. I know exactly how you all feel, especially when my husband is asking me almost daily if I have lost any weight. Now I just tell him I didn't weigh. I have lost 28 lbs in 10 weeks. I keep hearing of all those who have lost 50 lbs by this time and it's hard to put it into perspective. I have started walking, I mall walk as it is too hot here to go outside. I'm loosing about like I did on any diet I've been on, 1/2 to 1 lb a week; I'm eating and feeling fuller though, before I would be starved all the time. I don't feel obsessed about food, just try and get my Protein in first, then veggies, then carbs. I have not been perfect as I can eat anything without any problems, I had to try a few things to see what would happen.. ha ha.

My doctor said most average 1 to 2 lbs a week loss, so I guess I am the lower end. I think being older makes it harder too as my metabolism must be lower than it used to be. Some days I'm so tired! Others I feel great. Can't seem to pin it down on what I have eaten or anything.

When you eat out you really have to watch how much sodium is in the food, some dishes have 4-5 GMs of salt! That is an incredible amount and you will retain Water like crazy!!!

Thanks for sharing your experience. Mine has been almost identical to yours and I was sleeved the day after you also by Dr. Nick. You've made me feel better because I really thought I've been doing something wrong since I'm not doing as good as some others are, but I continue to be grateful I am not able to stuff myself the way I used to and I continue to trudge the road....:scared0:

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
