Hi everyone My name is Granlady I was banded on February 2, 2006 I have lost nothing. I had 2 adjustments one March 7.2006 and one May 9, 2006. I feel like nothing has changed. I never get full, I can eat anything and as much as I want. I need some Help and encouragement. I have been looking for a support group to see if I can make a difference and not feel like surgery was a waste of time.

Hi Granlady, Welcome to LBT. You didn't give much detail. Do you mind sharing your starting weight, did you have a pre-op diet, what size band you have, what size were your fills, are you on a low carb high Protein diet along with your band?

Hi Granlady!

It sounds like you aren't properly restricted yet and I know how frustrating that can be. :help: Trust me--once you are restricted with the proper amt of saline you WILL begin to lose. It does usually take most bandsters 3-5 fills to get to that point. Any weight lost before your sweet spot is considered bonus. I know how depressing it can feel to not see the scale move but please continue to try to eat your Protein and veggies, drink your Water and exercise and your restriction will come. When are you scheduled for your next fill? It may be THE ONE for you. Hang in there~ I didn't feel anything from my first fill and thought that I was going to fail but my 2nd fill did it for me. Good luck to you. :biggrin1:

Yes, you probably just haven't hit your restriction point yet. Don't give up. It will happen for you.

Thank all of you for your commets and encouragement. Here's alittle more info on me.

I was banded 2/2/06, Icame from 325 to 294 on pre-op liquid diet. I do not remeber the size of the band but on my first fill I was given 3.2 cc and on my second I was given 1.8 and I am getting ready to schedule a third. My concern is I can eat anything I want and as much aswant. I have never had a full feeling and n othing causes me to be nauseated or to regurgitate. So I just eat force of habit and lifestyle. I actually do good during the day, it is after 4pm when the none stop eating wants to set in. I exercise at least three times a week for 30 minutes or more and I drink lots of Water.

IF you can eat anything without restriction, you need another fill. Does your fill doctor use the fluroscope to see that you are getting restriction from each of your fills?

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
