Hollandsmom 0 Posted January 15, 2008 I finally met with my surgeon today. Does anyone have any experience with Dr. Pecquex at St. Elizabeths??
TedOB 0 Posted January 16, 2008 Well...as of today, I'm officially starting my pre-surgery diet. I had my last restaurant meal for god knows how long. The Christmas liquor is gone. No bread in the house. I don't eat sugary things, so the leftover candy doesn't bother me. Going to have to love my green vegetables. I like exercise, so it's not the issue. But the wide stance? Didn't know about it, I now have something else to fear.
METALBAND 0 Posted January 20, 2008 Sorry Ted...that was a bath room joke about the politician in the airport mens room....never mind it was a bad one anyway!!!! Good luck with the band....It is all worth it. I am down 61 lbs and feel like I have my life back already! I have NSV's (non scale victories) everyday. From tying my shoes to running up the stairs to buying clothes in the regular dept. It all feels great. Good luck and keep us posted on your surgery. This site has so much information, it is a great place to hang out!

SherryW 4 Posted February 1, 2008 Hey everyone, I'm trying to put a support group type thing together in Taunton. Is anyone interested? I have a few I've heard back from that would love to get together for some support versus having to go all the way into BIDMC. Basically we haven't made it into BIDMC as much as we'd like to because of the commute or time the support groups are held there. What do you think? Let me know...Chrispy will be coming I'm sure of that

SherryW 4 Posted February 4, 2008 Hey there Deb! Hey everyone...Christine and I finally decided to put together a get together as a South Shore get to know you support type meeting. It's going to be on Saturday, February 23 from 1-3pm and it will be in Taunton at my house. PM me if you're interested in joining in. Remember it's nothing formal like BI has but, at least if we all get together we an help encourage and keep each other motivated! We'll see how this meeting goes and plan others if it works out. nanavivian 0 Posted February 4, 2008 Hi All, I haven't been on in a long while. I have had hip replacement surgery. But I am doing well. I would love to try to make it Sherry. I am going to BICMC the end of Feb. and could use some great info soon. I have been pb'ing a lot since my surgery. It seems to be slowing down now, but I am anxious to talk to June and Dr. Jones about it. Other than that I am thrilled with the surgery. I will keep an eye on this site for further info and when I know for sure, can I e-mail you, Sherry? Hi to all the ones who met at the Burlington Mall, and welcome to the newbies. SherryW 4 Posted February 4, 2008 nana are you chewing your food enough? Are you taking one bite more than you probably should? That will definately make you PB.
nanavivian 0 Posted February 5, 2008 Hi Sherry, I probaby do take an extra "not needed" bite or two. I was brought up to finish everything on my plate. And old habits die hard. Even though I think I take small portions, I should try taking smaller portions. And see how that goes. I think my eyes are literally bigger than my stomach now. And the weight loss is VERY slow!!. Thanks. Nanavivian:wink2: Date of surgery 3/7/07 Highest Weight 213 Weight at surgery 207 Weight today
SherryW 4 Posted February 5, 2008 Hey Nana...most of us have been there. Here's a good helpful hint for you...use a bread or dessert plate to set your food up on. It helps limit what you put on there I do that for Thanksgiving and holidays and it really helps even 2 years out
nanavivian 0 Posted February 6, 2008  Hi Sherry, Thanks. I had forgotten the small dish idea. Also, I have been pretty immobile since the hip replacement surgery, just doing the therapy they recommend. The doctor doesn't even want me to walk because I still walk with a limp, so the weight loss is so slow. But I will be able to do more soon. And, I will start with smaller portions. Thanks for the advise. I think that might have been it. Nanavivian:rolleyes2: Highest Weight 216 Weight at surgery 207 Weight today
