I too get hiccups when I am full. ALWAYS!! My aunt who had surgery the same day as me gets a runny nose. They are not really painful but are strong and only last a few minutes

I realized the hiccup thing a few days ago. Once I am full I get this 1 small hiccup, and I know to stop. It doesn't bother me cause it helps me and lets me know when to stop.

I was warned before I had surgery that hiccups when full is one of the side effects of this surgery.

Does anyone else do this? Does it ever go away? The minute my tummy gets full...I do one or two loud hiccups. It's a bit embarassing.

:confused1:

I have been having this issue also. The boys I watch are use to their parents telling them they need to take a nap when they have the hiccups so everytime I get them (which happens as you know almost every day) they ask if I'm sick and tell me that I need to go take a nap lol..

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
