Tight in the am, loose in the pm, should I fill?

Recommended Posts

I've pretty much given up on eating Breakfast or anything other than Protein shakes until dinnertime -- which I'm fine with, BTW, as I use the time saved from eating for other things. But in the eves I can eat pretty well and I'm sure this is what's keeping me from losing like I'd like to.

This morning I drank my shake a little too fast, had trouble getting it down, and started sliming. Sliming from a shake? ??

I'm scheduled for a fill next Tuesday, but now I'm wondering if I should get one. I'd really like to just be tighter in the evenings but I'm concerned that a fill will make me even tighter in the mornings, which is unimaginable.

Any thoughts are appreciated.

It sounds like your level of restriction is fine now. If you can only keep solids down for dinner, getting a fill would likely cause you problems.

I am tighter in the morning also. Someone suggested drinking hot tea before anything else in the morning. I tried this because I was PBing my morning meds back up. IT WORKS GREAT! I drink my tea, take my pills, then drink my shake, 30 minutes later I eat my oatmeal. Try this before you decide about your fill.

Thanks, Elisabethsew. I really would like to eat less at dinner (and after dinner -- I usually snack). But I don't want to not be able to swallow during the day! :angry

Thanks, maryb. I will try this. Hopefully it'll work!

I have the same problem as you and I stuck around the same weight as you. At night I feel I can eat normal again but in the morning food is impossible.... I'm not sure if i need a fill either, but I would like to know how to stop feeling so hungry in the evening!

What about a mid-afternoon snack so that you're not so hungry at dinner? A "trick" that the dietician taught me is called "water loading" where you drink 16 oz of Water, crystal light, etc., about 10-15 minutes before you eat your dinner. These seems to fill up the stomach and signal the brain that you're full before you over eat. When I do this, I am unable to fit in a snack after dinner.

I think for some people there just doesnt seem to be a way to regulate restriction throughout the day. I'm a little bit the opposite, I seem to be much tighter in the evenings. Though I'd like to have to use less willpower during the day, if I were tighter, I'd start PBing and sliming at dinner time. And dinner for me tends to be a pretty nutritious meal too, usually involving lots of fresh vegetables, so I dont want to skimp on it.

If all you're having during the day is shakes, then personally, I'd be having fill removed. I certainly wouldnt be getting more.

Hi, I’m new here. I’m currently on the liver shrinking diet. So far so good, but I have to say I haven’t found a protein shake I like. Anyone have any suggestions please? My surgery date is September 17th.

Fairlife Core are by far the best. They taste just as they are - chocolate milk. You can either get the 26 grams or the 42 grams (harder to find and more expensive). For straight protein look at Bulksuppliments.com ..they have really good whey proteins and offer auto ship plus they test for purity. No taste or smell...

Fairlife has strawberry, vanilla and of course chocolate. No more calories than other protein drinks. Stay away from Premiere, they're dealing with lawsuits due to not being honest about protein content.
