wondering if someone can help me, can someone give me some experience sleeve surgeons on the east coast NY, MA, CT, RI,NJ, ME, NH or anywhere arond there? I am a high risk revision patient, and I have been unable to find someone who has done more than a handful of sleeves and I really don't know the reputations of the couple I have found in NY? any help would be greatly appreciated. thank you so much for your help

Hi Mila

I worked with Dr. Thomas Cerabona - Suite 1700, 19 Bradhurst Avenue

Hawthorne, NY 10532

(914) 347-0162

I am quite pleased with my post op results ( 7 months - 121lbs lost to date) My starting BMI was a 60 - only medical condition was sleep apnea and of course joint/arthritis issues

Dr. Cerabona and Dr. Maffei did my surgery as well. My surgery was over in half of the time they expected and my family was very impressed when both doctors came out to the waiting room and sat with them for about ten minutes after they were finished.

Hi

I was sleeved by Dr. Hoffman from the Comprehensive Weight Lose Center at Buffalo General Hospital, Buffalo NY. They have a very experienced group of bariatric surgeons and Dr. Hoffman does primarily the vsg's. I would highly recommend him to anyone.

I had my work done by dr. Douglas Ewing in Paramus, NJ. I personally think he's one of the best in northern NJ. His whole group is top notch.

I had my surgery with Dr. Aaron Roth, associated wtih Columbia Presbyterian hospital in NYC in July 2011. You can find his profile on line under the CP site. I had my surgery up at Lawrence Hospital in Bronxville NY. I've been very happy with Dr. Roth and my outcome (96# lost, 20 more to go!).

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
