Im so excited for you Mellifrits. I cant believe you havent told anyone, Its probably better though many people get really nervous. I have twin daughters and they are a bit stressed about it (They are 29). Have a safe trip on your way to a new you ! which hospital ?

Thank you so much for your uplifting words. I might tell more people once it is done, we will just have to see. But I'm only 23 so I'm sure anyone I tell will just try to talk me out of it and there is no changing my mind. My sister (47 years old) got her lap band a few years ago and she is going with me to Mexico! My mom helped me get the loan for the super sleeve and has been nothing but loving in this whole thing. Monday (July 12th) is my big day so please keep me in your prayers everyone!!

Hey July sleevers! Congratulations on your surgeries! As a June sleever, what you are going through is still fresh in my mind. Boy was I an excited, nervous wreck. My advice would be to pay close attention to your body and don't be hesitant to call your surgeon's office when you have questions. Good luck to everyone and keep us updated on how you are doing postop.

July 12 is my date. No pre-op diet for me, but I have cut back on amount of food. I am anxious to get thin again. I lost all my weight with my Band (which I love), but have esophagus problems, so the Band was emptied a few years ago. All my weight has returned and I'll have to start from scratch.

Dr. Gomez in Miami is my doctor.

Thats very smart of you to keep it quite, well meaning people will try to talk you out of it.

My sis 49 had gastric bypass a few years ago. Three sisters she knows had sleeves 1 a year ago size 8, one in Dec. a size 12 and one in March she lost 45 so far, I talked to that one she said she would deffinatly do it again, I think they all went to Mexico. So lots of good results. Im so ready to be done, it went fast but I am so impatient.

You have 2 days I cant wait to hear about it. have a great surgery : >

2 days to go for me too. I leave on tues (the surgeon is 100 miles away) and have surgery on Wed 7/14. I'm taking my laptop with me, lol, so you'll hear all about it (once I'm in the hotel again--Thurs).

I thought I would post this in case anyone else is ever in my situation, to let them know it can be done. I moved to North Dakota for a job, and I've been here less than a year. I have no family here, and am divorced. My mom lives on the east coast and her health is too poor for her to travel. Soooo, the bottom line is, except for you guys/gals I'm doing this absolutely alone.

I live 100 miles away from the hospital and I drive a stick shift. Doc said no way am I driving home after surgery. Here's where the helpful tips come in. The bariatric coordinator told me that the hospital has a deal with the Radisson Hotel in town, $69 a night hospital rate, and the hotel shuttle will drop me off at the hospital and pick me up when I'm discharged. So if you end up being one of the "alone" people like me, it can be done. I know that most hospitals will tell you "no taxis allowed" but if you talk to the surgery coordinator they can make exceptions in extraordinary circumstances. So you can do this alone, if the circumstances make it necessary.

I will be staying at the hotel for 4 nights after discharge, just to have time to heal and be near the hospital if there are complications. After that I will drive myself home. I have everything I need here in the hotel room: Clear liquids, Isopure clear Protein RTDs, Atkins Advantage shakes, powders?utm_source=BariatricPal&utm_medium=Affiliate&utm_campaign=CommentLink" target="_ad" data-id="1" >unjury chicken broth mix, pudding, and loads of diet green tea.

I'm in my hotel room now (free wireless internet, woo!) and am feeling really positive about surgery tomorrow.

I am back home and feeling okay. My hiatal hernia was not repaired due to too much scar tissue from the multiple surgeries and my liver and organs were all stuck together.

The pain level is minimal, just mostly discomfort. I am a stomach sleeper so I am not getting much sleep.

Clear Liquids for several days and trying to get hydrated. I feel so thirsty. I do have hunger, but I would guess that is expected not having taken in any calories for the last two days.

Hi, I’m new here. I’m currently on the liver shrinking diet. So far so good, but I have to say I haven’t found a protein shake I like. Anyone have any suggestions please? My surgery date is September 17th.

Fairlife Core are by far the best. They taste just as they are - chocolate milk. You can either get the 26 grams or the 42 grams (harder to find and more expensive). For straight protein look at Bulksuppliments.com ..they have really good whey proteins and offer auto ship plus they test for purity. No taste or smell...

Fairlife has strawberry, vanilla and of course chocolate. No more calories than other protein drinks. Stay away from Premiere, they're dealing with lawsuits due to not being honest about protein content.
