Besitos 0 Posted July 1, 2010 I'm barely 8 days out and just on full liquids. Do you think I could kill my craving by putting a bit of BBQ Sauce (just a tad) to my cottage cheese? Ughhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh! Lovingly, monica:001_tongue:
angel96049 1 Posted July 1, 2010 I would say go for it! Be careful that the sauce isn't too thick! I had some wild cravings early post-op, it's normal! I even licked some doritos, and it did help with the cravings! Good luck, and I hope your cravings subside soon! In no time you'll be eating normal food again try to keep that in mind when the cravings hit! Keep us posted!
MINI-Me 196 Posted July 1, 2010 You should be safe with just a little bit.
Besitos 0 Posted July 1, 2010 Isn't it funny how we need validation from others to do things! LOL You 2 gave me the green light and now I'm going to try it! I'll let you know how it goes! Lovingly, monica:001_tongue:

In no time you'll be eating normal food again try to keep that in mind when the cravings hit! Keep us posted! This is funny. I licked some Doritos on my day of Clear Liquids the day before surgery. Yummmmmyyy! Right now, I'm craving a soda real bad! I'm thinking about putting some DDP in my mouth and spitting it out but I'm scared some will slide down my throat. I'm pretty sure I'll need an ambulance if that happens considering how little I can handle in my stomach right now. :001_wub:
JudyM 2 Posted July 5, 2010 Mary - what is DDP? You guys are so funny, licking foods - I hope you didn't put the Doritos back in the packet, lol!! I was told by my French surgeon not to have just liquids, but to go straight to pur?es... My first hospital meal was a pea and vegetable Soup that the spoon stood up in, it was so thick! (I managed two teaspoons of it!)
educationrulz 18 Posted July 5, 2010 DDP is Diet Dr Pepper. My postop diet went to full liquids to pureed all by the end of the first week, so I think that did help cut down on a lot of craving issues for me. By the time I was able to eat stuff like scrambled eggs and oatmeal I fell almost like I was eating regular food. And no, I didn't put the doritos back in the bag.
Besitos 0 Posted July 5, 2010 Well.... I'm actually eating my cottage cheese with a bit of the BBQ Sauce I love (Everett & Jones) ohhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh my goodness!!! This is so darn good! Hopefully no reaction with it. Licking Doritos huh???!!! LOL On Wednesday is my 2 week follow-up and on to mushies I I hope! 4th of July was hard since we BBQed at my house. But I made it through. Yipeeee for me! lovingly, monica:001_tongue:
JudyM 2 Posted July 8, 2010 I've got some cottage cheese that I'll have for lunch tomorrow. Is that all you have? cottage cheese?
KathyM 14 Posted July 9, 2010 HAHAHAHA I am on my preop diet and if I got a Dorito anywhere close to my mouth I would probably lose a finger!!!
Swiftflow 6 Posted July 9, 2010 Just think by next 4th of July BBQ you will be wearing a nice small outfit looking great and able to eat regular food--just less of it. I know big events can be tough, but just think of all the events coming around again and you being thin and healthy
educationrulz 18 Posted July 9, 2010 I'm still kind of craving my soda. I did finally drink some and spit it out. Then, I decided to try the thing with letting it go flat and then drinking it. Has anyone tried that? I've seen it recommended in some of the surgeon's postop diet plans. Unfortunately, it is taking FOREVER for the soda to go flat. It's been in the fridge for like three days and still has little bubbles in it. I actually took a sip one day when I though the bubbles were gone and discovered later that there were still bubbles. It freaked me out but nothing happened. How long does it take for soda to go flat enough to drink?

Besitos 0 Posted July 9, 2010 I've got some cottage cheese that I'll have for lunch tomorrow. Is that all you have? cottage cheese? LOL no cottage cheese wasn't the only thing I was having but the only food I could think of that I could add BBQ Sauce to during my Full liquid Stage (cottage cheese was allowed for me). AutumnLily 77 Posted July 9, 2010 Stiring with a metal spoon helps the bubbles release. Still takes awhile to go completely flat.
