7 days post-op Crampy feeling mid tummy

Recommended Posts

Hi all

I am 7 days post op and feeling pretty good.

I did notice yesterday that I am getting this crampy feeling sort of between my

ribs and a bit on the right under my ribcage, and it extends down towards my belly button.

I'm not running a temp or anything, i took a walk this morning to see if it was

gas, but its still there. Bearable but worrisome.

Any ideas?

Thanks,

LIsa

I had a ache on my lower right side at about the same point. It hurt when I coughed. But it didn't get worse, no temp, and it went away after about a week. I was sleeping a lot on my right side and I wondered if the muscles were just complaining.

the same happened to me, and at times it hurt pretty bad but it did go away. I think thats where the camera was and they were moving it all around in there.

I'm now 8 days out but had the very same feeling! Yesterday, I woke up and it was gone but I had started moving around a lot more (took more walks and went to Target yeah!!!). I think it was just that darn gas.

Hope you feel well soon!

Lovingly,

Early aches and pains-there's healing going on inside. Just be aware but calm. Be sure not to lift anything over 15lbs for a while and be gental even lightly massage your aches and pains...plenty of walking, arm stretching, and do follow the guidlines for food and liquid consumption. If of course pain increases contact your surgeon. Best wishes and take it one day at a time.

Thanks guys!

My surgeons words were "if you blow your staple line you will die".

So..thereupon is the source of most of my worries..danged doctors, what are they

thinking sometimes?!?!

I will go with the flow and maybe be a little more active,

Thx,

Lisa

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
