Jaffa 5 Posted June 30, 2010 I sensed it a long time ago. It seems about at one year, every time I got a fill it would last really well and the band worked for about 3 weeks, but then it would get loose again. Well, I went for an unfill as part of my plan to get revision, and sure enough out of 10.25cc that were added to my band, only 8cc remained. They tried and tried to get more out, just to make sure, but they got it all. So I was right, my band was leaking at higher pressures. This is why it was getting so annoying. I'm glad, I'm going for revision....I would NEVER advise someone to "FIX" a band problem....they just seem to come back and it isn't worth the expense. I feel better knowing it wasn't my imagination all along.
Jaffa 5 Posted June 30, 2010 Unfilled and all on my own for the next 3 weeks. But, it shouldn't be too bad, I hope.
Jaffa 5 Posted June 30, 2010 Soon I will be losing the "Honorary Sleeve Brother" designation for the Sleeve team.
Tiffykins 673 Posted June 30, 2010 Oh that sucks it was leaking, but it's great that you've got confirmation on your instincts. I kind of felt the same way when they found all that scar tissue around my band, and that my port had migrated. My band surgeon made me feel like a loony, and that I was imagining all my pain and discomfort. He pretty much told me I was making it all up. I'm glad you'll be singing the sleeve song with us soon. Hug your wife for me, hope she is doing well.
TexasT 99 Posted June 30, 2010 As a former "bandster" myself, you've given me even more confirmation that removing that evil piece of plastic from my body was the best decision ever. Good luck on your upcoming surgery. I'm sure your wife will welcome you to "our team" too!
