weak, tired, forcing intake

Recommended Posts

Hi

I am on day 11 and not only do I have NO hunger I would be happy not to drink anything. I felt very weak and tired today. It took me 15 minutes to dry my hair because my arms were so weak. I am forcing in the liquids and Protein because i know I must, but it is a struggle. I did manage to hit 70 g of Protein today and 60 oz of FL but I feel so full and I am trying to get the last of this Protein shake in.

I guess it is nice not to have hunger but will I ever want to eat anything again? It takes me 2 hours to drink a Protein Shake

It will get better. I was trying to hard to get in Protein. When I went back for my check up, my Dr told me he did not want me to worry about protein yet. He told me to relax and let the surgery work. It helped me a lot. I did not want to eat either and getting in liquids was hard too.

I get hungry every 3 hours or so too and at first that got me bummed but a few bites of something and I am fine. Remember when it was a whole combo from Wendy's? Sometimes that was not enough for me. I have heard that goes away too. I wonder...

I was having a lot of trouble getting my Water in and I confess, didn't even get in half yesterday because work got in the way but usually I carry a camelbak cup that has a built in straw that does not allow you to swallow air. It can hold 24 oz. I full it up and carry it with me everywhere. I just can't drink Water cause it does not taste good to me. I drink Crystal light. I am not thrilled because I really don't like it that much but it is better than water.

Now Protein, that is another battle. It takes me 2 hours to drink a shake and I am talking myself out of it the whole time. When we had our 2 week diet class, one of the ladies mentioned that it took her hours to drink one and we were told that it was not only normal, but perfect so I guess I am doing it right...and so are you!

I felt like you did, weak, and it was around day 11 that I started feeling better. It was a little each day and it was after I started getting in enough water. I hope you start experiencing that turn around soon.

I am almost three weeks out and I feel like I can drink normal now. I have to catch myself from gulping. I too have a problem with plain Water, seems to 'stick' going down. I like the Hawaiian punch cherry limeade. I still dilute down some so it is not sickeningly sweet. I was having very bad thoughts yesterday - When I was looking over all of the Crystal Light flavors I saw one that was 'Cosmopolitan flavored' and I though-----oh, wouldn't that be good with a little vodka-------naughty naughty:reddevil:

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
