im curious to see what results are out there. im only looking for the number of sleeves done prior to yours, although feel free to mention how many rny or lapbands were done by them also. my hopefully upcoming sleeve will be done by dr. james mcginty and he has only done 6 sleeves, although he has hundreds of rnys done. kindly list your surgeon and approximately how many sleeves they did before doing your sleeve. if you already see your doctor mentioned in this thread, theres no need to duplicate it. thank you, as im trying to see approximately how much sleeve experience various dr's had prior to doing yours.

I went to Dr. Sergey Lyass. He told me that for 2 years he had done 40 sleeves. Before that for many years he had done gastric bypass and lapbands at a popular place in L.A. I think it was 1800-get thin? I didn't know anyone who had gone to him but the nurses highly recommended him and confirmed he does most of the surgeries for sleeves in their hospital. I was sleeved on June 8 and my only out of the ordianry issue is lots of pain still at the larger incision sight. That coul be due to my fibromayalgia. I am sensitive to injuries.

My surgeon advised he had done over 200 sleeves .. he was good. The whole experience was excellent. I would recommend this clinic.

I'm still pre-op, I asked my surgeon in our initial consult how many VSG's he had done and he said 900, sounds good to me!

I had Dr Fisher as my primary and Dr Baggs assisting. From Kaisier Richmond, Ca

Mine was about his 30th sleeve. no complications or deaths. But he has done hondreds of full bypass's with few complications.

he even said to me, if you can do the full bypass, but have problems with the sleeve then there is something wrong since the sleeve is only about 1/3rd the surgery that an RNY is...

I really liked dr Fisher, he was strict but kind and I really felt he cares about his patients and their success.

my surgeon has only done one sleeve as most people here have bcbs and they do not cover it, with my denial and appeal (if it happens) this surgeon while only doing one sleeve has done hundreds and hundreds of rny for more than 10 years and has done banding for over 7, but who knows how many he will have done in the months it will take me to go through the appeals process....

Hi everyone! I’m brand new here. I just went through all my pre-op requirements per my insurance company and now everything has been submitted and I’m just waiting for final approval and my surgery date. I’ve been doing research, watching YouTube videos, TikTok’s, ect.. trying to prepare my mind and what to expect so I’ll be ready for the surgery. I was so sure and so set and so ready and excited. However, now that I’ve done everything & it’s almost here, I am sooooooo scared! I know why I want it bc I’ve tried everything and I just don’t feel like I can lose weight by myself. I’m tired of being overweight my entire life. I’m miserable, but I keep psyching myself out afraid of GERD bc I know how that can be and I don’t want to have to get a bypass after already gaining the courage to even get VSG. I’m scared of complications like I’mgoing to regret doing it and be depressed that I didn’t just be more disciplined and try again to lose the weight on my own even sitting here typing this knowing in my mind i just can’t and don’t possess the discipline. I’m also afraid I won’t be able to handle the restrictions of the sleeve. What do I eat? I don’t know how to eat healthy really and don’t enjoy healthy food. I don’t know how to do this! I feel so defeated!Someone tell me they felt anything similar to this or am I not ready? I thought I was. I am so tired of being sick and tired and so tired of myself and so tired of being stuck and stuck in this body and somebody different on the outside from what I feel inside. I just want to ball up and cry.

The 14th was my day. I am home and recovery is going pretty smooth. They even let me walk out of the hospital. Picture of me in recovery curtesy of my boyfriend lol.

Neat you have a pic of this day! I was sooo happy to get my surgery. It was well worth it! And I'm not even near my goal. I had surgery Dec. 2!
