Still Having Big Problems and I Need Suggestions

Recommended Posts

Ask your Doctor's office if they have any free samples. That is how I tried the Unjury. I don't think I would have ordered because I have dropped so much money on Protein and it would just kill me to spend more on something I hated. I don't know if I could add it to my Water. I think the texture would be a huge turn off but ya never know. I eat things now I never thought were good before...and food I loved before is nasty to me now. If you try it, let me know how you like it in water.

I've already bought some Unjury before. It seems to stay more clear than the other powders. I tried it and it's not half bad. A little thicker than Water, but give me Protein. I put in 1/3 scoop of strawberry Unjury, packet of benefiber, and almost a whole packet of raspberry lemonade Crystal Light in a 16.7 fl oz bottle of water. It is sippable. Besides, I found that I really didn't like the strawberry Unjury as a shake. The chocolate isn't bad tho.

Just an FYI, your UTI may be a result of being cathed during surgery. I hope you feel better soon. I will keep you in my prayers.

I'm a 40f size but I had a hiatal hernia repair and really struggled to get my fluids in. I am still only able to eat small amounts of well chewed food and really only about 4-6oz of soft mushie stuff like hot Cereal or yogurt, Soup etc. I think the esophagus has so much to do with the difficulty. I am past 9 months out from surgery and after only a few (3-5 tablespoons of any food) my bra strap center of my chest becomes so tight that I have to loosen it...even then the tightness is there so it's not really the bra strap it's the esophagus I'm thinking. I hope you find a way to resolve the issues. My surgeon had me on reglan, (for motility more than nausea), early on while in hospital and afterwards at home. That medication caused me to get extreme anxiety and I had to stop taking it. I still have issues and am trying to work out the quirks from this surgery. Best wishes to you finding resolution to this and any other issue that may arise.

My first full shake in down in the new stomach!!! Since my surgery, that is the first shake I have been able to finish, plus I don't feel miserable and am able to sip on Water afterwards.

Thanks to you all for your suggestions! Everything seems to be on the road to recovery and I am feeling so much better...

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.
