just a note to let everyone know I am home from surgery. I had to stay en extra night because of a hernia the repaired along with the sleeve.

doing ok so far, I am getting my Water, Jello down. My biggest problem right now is being able to sit still. slept a little bit since coming home, but now I am figity.

any ideas to help?

oh and the process was smooth, they make you feel very comfortable. I was not even nerous when they put the mask on

hope everyone else is doing good

Sherri

Sounds like you are doing really well. I'm happy for you. As far as being figity...I'm not sure, but it wouldn't surprise me if all the drugs in your system could do that. It takes a while for them to get flushed out. Best of luck with your recovery.

Congrats and glad you are doing well! I would say, go with the fidgety lol because you are supposed to move as much as possible. I got up every 15 minutes to go get my ounce of liquid from the kitchen. I moved a lot and I think it really helped me heal quicker. But I'm sure it's also bothering you when trying to sleep and in that case I'm not sure what to suggest except maybe trying to stretch your legs and arms well and drink something warm.

I'm home too! Had surgery Tuesday, got home this morning. All went well, keyhole surgery (4 incisions) - scars are minsicule apart from the biggest one (I assume where they hoicked the unwanted stomach out!).

Will write up my blog, but I have to say I feel FAB! :lol0:

Welcome home and thank you for letting us know how things are going. About the fidgety feeling, I haven't been sleeved yet but did have that same feeling after having an ovary removed. I chalked it up to feeling good, having the right amount of pain med, and that nesting feeling...but I couldn't do anything. All of a sudden those dust bunnies that have become household pets were on my top pest list, lol. Oddly enough, as I healed enough to take care of those types of things my concern about them waned to pre-surgery levels.:blushing:

Hey Sherri, Judy, and Jave. Congrats everybody! Looks like the June 22nd crew made it home intact. I alternated between mild fidgeting and extreme sleepiness in the hospital. When I was fidgety, I walked. When I was sleepy, I napped. It seemed to balance out because the hospital staff said I was doing really well with my walking. I'm still a little uncomfortable and looking forward to that big turning point when I start to feel "normal" again.

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.
