songbird_kay 5 Posted June 25, 2010 I am three days out of surgery and I am feeling pretty good except I have horrible bloating in my abdomen. I did not have a drain put in and I wonder if I should have... it is hard and pushed out... At what point do I get worried and/or email my Dr? Am I worrying for nothing, is it normal? Did anyone else have this issue? how long until it resolved?
deedee 5 Posted June 25, 2010 I don't think it's ever a bad idea to call your doctor if you're concerned. I remember feeling pretty bloated the second and third weeks, but it's hard for me to remember that first week:-) I hope you feel better soon!
Maddie 9 Posted June 25, 2010 I had a lot of bloating, swelling and Water weight after surgery. I am 3 weeks post op and the worst of it is gone, but I'm still waiting for the rest to go away.
Papillon 7 Posted June 25, 2010 I agree with deedee... never hurts to call your doctor just in case. I noticed your name says songbird in it.. do you sing? I would be interested in knowing that side effects you have noticed in technique if you do.
SParkle 4 Posted June 26, 2010 I was bloated as well but it went down after about a week... I gained 2 inches around my waist! although the external scars are small remember they've been rooting around inside you so you'll be swollen from the trauma of surgery. MamaAsh 1 Posted June 27, 2010 Stacy, I can agree with Chrissy, infact I piled everything up on my scale to see how much it weighed before I went lol! Lorden, not sure about the next meeting, but yes they had one this Saturday as a few of my friends went! Songbird, sorry I never had that issue, just email your surgeon and if it gets worse go to the ER and demand a CT scan. Let us know what happens!
