I think I'm getting the hang of this website. It's been great just reading everyone's stories and experiences. :tongue_smilie:

I just had my surgery on the 29th, my birthday. I was sent home from hospital on the 30th. Dr. Alami at South San Francisco, did my surgery. I guess I'm number 3 to have the modified surgery where only 2 incisions were made. My stomach is sore (to be expected) but everything else is going well. I'm on stage II diet now. Can't wait for great results.

Hum, I need to learn how to work this tickerfactory to update my loss.

They wanted todo the "new technique" on me too. It sounds interesting, but they way he said he wanted to "try it on me" put me off. Glad it worked out well.

That is neat about the different way of doing the surgery with only 2 incisions. How do you feel? You got the sleeve done? Dr. Alamani seems like a great doctor. I'm assigned to Dr. Le. Who is very nice. How are you feeling?

I love the new look of everything here, I thought I had gone to the wrong website!

I decided to modify the two Protein Shakes a day...I have one in the morning, then at lunch I am having a sandwich with fruit, then dinner is lean meat with yogurt and a veggie and fruit. This is working, I am already down 2 lbs. and this will be the third day. So maybe I can lose some of the 12 lbs. before my next appointment.

Richmond called me this morning and finally set me up with my psych appointment! As of this morning, I am only 7lbs away from my goal and I'm hoping to have reached it by the end of the month. I'd love to get a surgery date that's before the end of the year. Everything is moving a little faster than I expected, and my orientation was just on the 14th. I'm excited and looking forward to the next step!

How do u you like Dr Alami? He's my surgeon. I only met him once at orientation. I have my appt with him on Oct 15. Hopefully I will get a date.

What's is the new procedure exactly?

I dont know if I did my ticker correctly but I clicked on someone elses ticker and went from there. Once I had the design I liked I copied and pasted it to my signature.

What's up with this website? I was finally getting use the old one. The old website was more user friendly

Yeah I'm really curious about the new way to do the surgery too. Two incision for sure sounds better than five! I just got my surgery date on Monday, it will be on my birthday November 2nd, I can't wait! I'm at Kaiser Richmond with Dr. Fisher, if someone could fill me in about the two incision thing I would really appreciate it then I can shoot him an email and ask if I can be considered for that.

I'm not liking this new website either!

Thanks, Sara

For those who have had surgery...what wer you told about resuming regular exercise? I have looked in my notebook and reviewed handouts from previous classes and it is all very vague. When cold you do cardio (treadmill/elliptical) and low weight training? Thanks!

My daughter and friend had the sleeve done by Dr. Aceves in Mexico. Mine by Dr. Alami at South San Francisco. I think my recovery is faster than they experienced. To be sure my main incision at the belly button is tender, but the other incision, high up just below the breasts, is no problems what so ever. I'm glad I had the new procedure.

I was able to eat some chicken noodle Soup yesterday (about a week out). I go verry slow and test out how something is going to go down. Still hangin with those Protein drinks.

Hi everyone!

Lee- Thanks, you are right I NEED to stay on track. I need to remind my self in the long run this is not good. I think that it is hard for me because no matter what I do I lose the weight. Part of me is scared I wont stop losing after I hit goal. My other problem is not having the momentum or energy to exercise. And the closest support group to Oakley is Lodi (45 min away) Not sure, but is there one in Concord? I was so upset when they did away with the Antioch one. I wish there was one near me less then 10 min. away!

Hi to all the new comers! I will be 5 months out Oct. 25th. I am down 80 lbs., 32 pre op. 48 post. I hope you all are doing well!

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
