Is the group meeting at Arden Fair on June18?

It's actually the 25th and it will be the last meeting. And Angel (the facilitator) won't be there. She is unable to lead the meetings due to a time conflict, and Kaiser has decided to pull their support for our meeting. Major bummer!

Sunshine, they set me up with a different doctor and I told the woman scheduling my first surgeon appointment that I would prefer to wait for Dr. Baggs. I had to wait a month but it didn't matter because I knew I'd have to shed the pre-op pounds anyways. I didn't have much to lose by the time I saw him. Your surgeon follows you forever so make sure you get someone that you really like.

Hey winecountrygirl let me know how your progress goes!!! Congrats to ya!!!! I'm excited too!!!

Totally girl! I have already dropped 14 lbs. I'm not sure how much they are going to tell me I need to lose but I hope to be near that goal or at it when I meet with the surgeon. I'd love to get this surgery in 2 months...I'm motivated!

I had my pre-op appt with Dr Alami on Tuesday, everything went well, then..... I wake up the next morning with a major cold. Dang.... I spoke with one of the nurses, she said to wait and see how I feel on Monday. (Surgery is Wednesday). So not cool!

Hi Heather,

I am just checking on you to see how your feeling. I really hope you are feeling better.

WCgirl-

are you in the SR Kaiser 14 week support program?

I will be finishing my last meeting- and may have some extended support meetings on my deck- pool side- if your interested... totally informal- just share/chat and ask...

My wife and I have decided to share our stories/tricks/tips if any groups need guest speakers.

just trying to return it...

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Your so close now! It's gonna be great :) Wishing you a speedy recovery and looking forward to seeing how it goes!

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
