Kaiser Richmond/kaiser South San Francisco Gastric Sleeve Brothers And Sisters!

Recommended Posts

Hello everyone! Its been pretty quiet here lately, how is everyone doing?

Well, it's been 2 months since surgery, and I'm down 31.2 lbs. A pound every 2 days is pretty good work to me. I'm eating most things now, but the worst thing that has happened is that I can no longer eat anything spicy. I love spicy meat, and every time I eat it I feel horrible, and have thrown up. I'm hoping that is goes away, but I'm going to give it a few months before I try again.

Hi Mommy,

You are right--it's been way too quiet around here. C'mon back all you Richmond/SSF Kaiser loooosers!

Sounds like your weight loss is moving right along. Slow, steady and consistent-that's the way to go. Congratulations! I think you will be eating spicy food once again very soon. chicken made me feel bad three weeks ago and now I'm just fine with it. Our bodies are changing and adapting. Don't give up on foods with a kick!

Hey, last night I attended the Richmond support group with some Richmond buddies of mine. I'm a South San Francisco patient and I had a great time at Richmond Kaiser. Very informative and it was great seeing all Ithe newbies just starting their journey. I like how they split the two groups for the first hour (pre surgery and post surgery folks) and then we all get together for the last hour. Like this board, it just feels great to hear and see people that are going through what I am going through.

Everyone is doing so well! My weight loss has slowed down but I am still losing 2-3 pounds a week. I am at 203.9! So close to getting into onederland! I have a hard time eating turkey, like from the deli. I also admit that I am still eating too fast and get sick a couple of times a week. My tummy is still very restrictive but luckily as long as I eat slow, I can eat most foods. Next week will be 3 months. Crazy how it seems like it has been much longer.

HI everyone! I read all the posts, but with work, school and family, I never sit still long enough to post much! I am 94 days out and have am down to 179. I am wearing some 14s and I have a bunch of jeans in 10s. I have a TON of energy and am just generally feeling great. I still have issues of food coming up if I eat too much, and every now and then plain Water will come back up. I am working on finding something to drink that I really like. For the moment its coconut water, but that stuff is expensive!

Take care!! :)

Wow! It's so great to hear that everyone is in major success mode! That is just fantastic and just hearing about everyone loosing helps me to stay on the path. Amber, 2-3 pounds a week is a major victory--keep it up. And Cukie, you totally inspire me. I remember that you were a month out when I was just going in for surgery and you kept on saying no regrets and that made it a lot easier for me to face surgery. I'm so glad that you are so far down. Keep it up Ladies!!! I love being a loooooser!

I have a hard time with plain water too. Robin recommended propel zero, and that goes down really well for me. The lemon reminds me of sprite, but the grape is my favorite. I find it at Safeway all time on sale, and manage 3-4 of those a day.

Hi everyone!

I'm finally seeing the scale move again. I got the stomach flu a week ago and lost 7 lbs in 2 days. I've been able to maintain the loss and I'm now 10 lbs from scheduling surgery. I've also started a program at my gym, small group training with a personal trainer for 6 weeks. We had our first workout on Saturday and I can hardly move! (I love the feeling though, it reminds me that I really did good work). If everything goes as planned, I'll meet you guys on the post-op side in June!

Did any of you have the single-incision surgery? Dr Alami said he might do that for me and take my gallbaldder at the same time.

Thanks David :D

I am loosing a lot slower now, but as long as it still moves I am ok with that.

I had my surgery June 22nd last year

Wow! I can't imagine what it will feel like to only being 15 - 19 pounds away from goal. Congratulations and I hope you get there fast. When was your surgery?

hi all. Been awhile since I've posted. Today I had a 1/2 piece of sourdough bread and it about did me in. Tasted so good, but within 2 minutes my mouth got all watery and I fought from throwing up. It was horrible. But all day I've been achy and my stomach has hurt, so wondering if I have a bug.

I'm down to 176. Only lost 9.5 lbs this month. I'm down 33.5 lbs since surgery and 44.5 overall. I'm almost out of the obese category. I'm so excited. This month I'm going to work on more toning and weight loss. I might have only lost 9.5 this month, but the inches have been melting away like crazy. So happy. Next month's goal is 160s. I can't wait.

Hi, I’m new here. I’m currently on the liver shrinking diet. So far so good, but I have to say I haven’t found a protein shake I like. Anyone have any suggestions please? My surgery date is September 17th.

Fairlife Core are by far the best. They taste just as they are - chocolate milk. You can either get the 26 grams or the 42 grams (harder to find and more expensive). For straight protein look at Bulksuppliments.com ..they have really good whey proteins and offer auto ship plus they test for purity. No taste or smell...

      2. BlondePatriotInCDA

Fairlife has strawberry, vanilla and of course chocolate. No more calories than other protein drinks. Stay away from Premiere, they're dealing with lawsuits due to not being honest about protein content.
