Ok, so I am 5 weeks out and for the last two weeks I havent exercised that much. I am eating very little calories and am baffled why I am not losing weight. So, I am eating about 600-900 calories a day, protien (lean), vegetables (grilled, lightly sauted), and fruit (every other day when i am craving sweets).

So I found that when I exercised on machines I was hungry all day. That is one of the reasons that I did this surgery because with my band at the end I was hungry allllll the time. I have lost 27lbs and my doctor said that I should expect 20lbs a month for the first three months. So I just wonder if I am normal or doing something wrong. I know everything is not exact and everyone is different, but I just wonder if I could be doing better.

I think I need to get in and exercise more and see what that does. Would anyone here like to chime in and give me some advice.:) PUrdy please

I think how much you lose totally depends on how much you have to lose. I had lost 27 lbs at 6 weeks I remember, 36 lbs at 8 weeks...and then it has taken me 2 more months to lose 12 more lbs. I didn't lose at the rate your doctor said. PLus, you are exercising so probably gaining muscle which weighs more than fat.

Trust your body and be patient. My understanding is that your body will at certain points pull back and not allow weight loss. For me before my period, like a week or two before I lose quite a few lbs and then after my period - when I think I would weigh less - I just stay stable until a week or two before more next period. I've done this for 2 mos straight and it seems like this month is my pattern and I now look forward to losing 5-6 lbs a month. I'm no longer in a huge rush b/c I want a slow steady loss now down to goal. I don't care if it takes me a year. Just ENJOY!!!

Hang in there and try not to compare. The hunger may dissipate in time, I know mine has a lot. I didn't feel any overwhelming hunger changes for a long time, but I can say at 4 mos. and I still like food, but not overwhelmingly starving at all. I was the first couple weeks after surgery - I freaked out. But everyone is a little bit different I suppose. I still get hungry, I just eat differently. I really don't want sweets or if I do it is SUCH a small amount that satisfies me. What I want to eat changes but is generally healthy and lean stuff.

I have an aversion to cooked veggies for the most part, but love salads, hearty fishes like salmon, chicken, beef sometimes. A little starch occasionally. A little bread and tiny bit of Pasta occasionally. Black Beans, which I loved before. Occasional eggs. Not really cakey stuff anymore.

I would say I'm satisfied at 4 mos with what I can eat. I've adapted. You will too....just wait and see. And enjoy your 27 lb weight loss in 5 weeks. It is phenomenal.

I remember this...if I didn't have this surgery I would likely weigh at least x lbs more than I do right now. It is so cool to have weight loss like this, which I've never experienced prior to this. Normal sizes...how cool is that!!!

You'll get more comfortable in time with the surgery and its results. Keep exercising!!! I haven't done that honestly.

I lost 20 lbs the first month, then 10 lbs a month after that until the 7th month, when it dropped to 5 lbs per month. The less you weigh, the slower you lose, and I am just fine with that.

I find that my loose skin is shrinking a little and a gradual loss is probably a good idea at this point. I expect at 1 year I will be close to my goal, but whatever it takes is fine with me. It's working and I am just very grateful.

I don't weigh every day now, just about once a week and that keeps me from getting upset that the loss has slowed down...Lower your expectations, and just enjoy the ride!

Well I upped my calories and protien and I am now down to 31 yay. Next week I am resolved to get more exercise in whatever form. Its getting into the 90's here so it kinda sucks being outside but there is pools and gyms.

XOOX

Hi, I’m new here. I’m currently on the liver shrinking diet. So far so good, but I have to say I haven’t found a protein shake I like. Anyone have any suggestions please? My surgery date is September 17th.

Fairlife Core are by far the best. They taste just as they are - chocolate milk. You can either get the 26 grams or the 42 grams (harder to find and more expensive). For straight protein look at Bulksuppliments.com ..they have really good whey proteins and offer auto ship plus they test for purity. No taste or smell...

Fairlife has strawberry, vanilla and of course chocolate. No more calories than other protein drinks. Stay away from Premiere, they're dealing with lawsuits due to not being honest about protein content.
