:confused1::confused1: Am I eating too much????

B - 12 oz of coffee w/scoop of Protein

slice of bread w/peanut butter

S - 1/2 of grapefruit

L- small side salad about 1 1/2 cup of lettuce - I wasnt able to finish it all (almost)

I was three months out on 3/11. Did my stomach stretch out of place already? If so is it possible to have a sleeve revision to a smaller pouch?

Your stomach has not stretched. You're eating slider foods so more is going to go in there. The denser the food the less you'll be able to consume.

Your stomach has relaxed, all of the swelling has pretty much subsided and if you're 6 months out, you'll be able to eat more than you could at 2-3 months out.

I can still only eat 4-5oz of meats, but can at an entire cup/8oz of mushy slider foods. Fruits, veggies especially lettuce are all sliders. If you'll eat meat, or a Protein dense food source before the other stuff, you'll notice that you can not eat as much.

Breads, rice, Pasta, potatoes, veggies, and fruits are all sliders for me, and that maybe the case with you as well. It doesn't sound like your eating too much, maybe too many sliders, but quantity wise it's not too much. If you're in your losing stage still, I would go back to the basics, and stick with the Protein first rule.

Did your salad have any Protein in it? It sounds like you're not getting enough protein dense meals to me. I was told we could eat lettuce but spinach leaves were better for us and to concentrate on protein, then vegetables, fruit and lastly bread.Do you belong to www.myfitnesspal.com it really helps to track what your daily totals are. Good Luck!!:confused1:

I second what Tiffykins wrote (as always!)

Slider foods I can consume with almost no feeling of restriction whatsoever. Solid foods, on the other hand... my girlfriend and I went out for dinner at a local Mexican joint, and we split three tacos. I was able to eat 1/2 of one taco and a couple of tablespoons of black Beans and rice, over about 45 minutes. And I was STUFFED.

Moral of the story: the density and consistency of the food make a HUGE difference.

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.
