Did anyone have this? I think it is due to over compensating with protecting my stomach area that my love handles really ache now. I'm fine in a recliner style chair, but normal sitting isn't that comfortable.

I'm thinking maybe stick a heat pack on it or cool pack? The pain killers don't seem to have any affect on it for some reason.

My back is totally messed up too. It is because of exactly what you said. Overcompensating. I am 5 days out. Can't wait to be able to see my chiropractor again.

Its easing slightly... was good to get out and walk yesterday, and I'm out again in a moment, so hopefully it'll pass in its own time.

How long do you have to wait before you can go see your chiropractor post op?

I will find out this thursday when I can see my chiro. Hopefully soon. I have to admit. Today I felt a little better and had more hours in between my vicodin. I am 6 days out today. Good luck with your back. It is tough!

I have to say mine is a lot better now.....I am consciously trying to make the effort to sit properly, so hopefully its on the mend. Good luck with yours.

My back started killing me in the hospital, and I blamed it on the lousy beds, but it's still hurting at home, and I came home on the 7th. It's eased up a lot, but still hurts and aches in the lower area. I'm hoping it will adjust itself once I'm able to get a bit more active, and I lose some more weight.

Nice to know that I'm not the only one!

It's 6th day after my surgery and my back is the biggest source of PAIN. All muscles feel like being continuously held in the state of continuous cramping.

I hope it will get better soon.

I got my sleeve on the 5th, and after surgery, my back was KILLING me for the first two weeks straight! I slept with my heating pad behind my back it hurt so bad the first week! The heat (& Lortab) helped tremendously, but it still hurt a bit... My chiro told me that I had to wait 6 weeks for a full adjustment (same as a c-section, or any other abdominal surgery), but she did adjust my neck and shoulders since I came in for an appointment (for free :D). The biggest help was my friend (who is a massage therapist) who gave me a back chair massage a couple nights in a row to ease the pain....

Good luck! It will go away......... eventually......

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
