Well, as I had mentioned in my blog I was acting as a guinea pig for the calorie shifting method of doing 3 days low cal 1 day high. And this past week I had a few days of stall anyway.. So my body was able to get used to this pattern a bit anyway. I wanted to be truthful about this as I was just testing it. The true zig-zag method is supposed to only shift a couple hundred calories and not a drastic amount like my 3 days around 800 cals and 1 day around 1800. I still think the method helped me some the first few weeks, but in itself has not been a stall preventer. So I am going to go back to a low carb focus and try to randomly vary calorie amounts each day instead of a strict 3 to 1.

Tiffykins method of low carb the first few months is where I am going to try and focus now. For me I was calorie focused this first month and did not count carbs--I did get protien and liquids in, but did not even worry about carbs past that. I get to start some exercise this week too since I will hit 6 weeks out, and this will help as well.

Anyway, I said I would test and report my results back so although I would have liked to continue to drop 5+ pounds every week on my shifting method it has not been the magic pill.

Good news.. The addition of new cardio has kicked the Weight loss back into gear!

My favorite cardio outside of running is the Stairmaster stepmill (small escalator looking stairs)--it really kicks my butt. I tend to push myself pretty hard in cardio as well. I like getting up right near my limit of tolerance and pushing it hard (30 mins for now), and then I cooldown with a easy treadmill walk.

Great news Swiftflow. I love that escilator thing. It is a killer. I think it does me better than anything else they have at the gym.

I'm still not weighing but I've got my fingers crossed for when I weigh on the 21st (my sleeveaversary)

Thanks for the report! I am sticking to the low carb, high Protein and seems to be working ok for me. This week I am going to add some exercise but it will just be walking as I am not released to do anything like the elliptical until 2 months out.

You are doing great!

Hi everyone! I’m brand new here. I just went through all my pre-op requirements per my insurance company and now everything has been submitted and I’m just waiting for final approval and my surgery date. I’ve been doing research, watching YouTube videos, TikTok’s, ect.. trying to prepare my mind and what to expect so I’ll be ready for the surgery. I was so sure and so set and so ready and excited. However, now that I’ve done everything & it’s almost here, I am sooooooo scared! I know why I want it bc I’ve tried everything and I just don’t feel like I can lose weight by myself. I’m tired of being overweight my entire life. I’m miserable, but I keep psyching myself out afraid of GERD bc I know how that can be and I don’t want to have to get a bypass after already gaining the courage to even get VSG. I’m scared of complications like I’mgoing to regret doing it and be depressed that I didn’t just be more disciplined and try again to lose the weight on my own even sitting here typing this knowing in my mind i just can’t and don’t possess the discipline. I’m also afraid I won’t be able to handle the restrictions of the sleeve. What do I eat? I don’t know how to eat healthy really and don’t enjoy healthy food. I don’t know how to do this! I feel so defeated!Someone tell me they felt anything similar to this or am I not ready? I thought I was. I am so tired of being sick and tired and so tired of myself and so tired of being stuck and stuck in this body and somebody different on the outside from what I feel inside. I just want to ball up and cry.

The 14th was my day. I am home and recovery is going pretty smooth. They even let me walk out of the hospital. Picture of me in recovery curtesy of my boyfriend lol.

Neat you have a pic of this day! I was sooo happy to get my surgery. It was well worth it! And I'm not even near my goal. I had surgery Dec. 2!
