Merry Christmas to all!

I had a wonderful dinner last night with my whole family. I did discover, sadly, that I can not eat my prime rib rare anymore, it must be done!

However, the day was wonderful and an added bonus, I lost a pound!

Hope everyone has a fantastic day with family and friends!

Checking in to say Merry Christmas! We traveled 2.5 hours away to the Twin Cities yesterday, stayed over night in a hotel, and came home tonight about 6:30.

I let myself have a few sweets and ate minimal for dinners. I am putting myself on shakes this week except dinners. I am on vacation all week, so I will do my Slim Fast for Breakfast and lunch and then have dinner with my family. I wanted to be at 250 by today and I was 255 on Sunday morning. Five away from goal is nothing to sneeze at, I know, but I want to be under 250 when I go back to work. So I am self-imposing the liquid.< /p>

I hope you all had a wonderful holdiay filled with laughter, friends, family, and many compliments on the new you!!

Stephanie,

When do you go back to work? I go back on the 2nd. I was hoping to be in the 150's (I'd love to see that 5 even if it is followed by a 9.9) by the time I went back, but I am really beginning to doubt it at this point. Especially since I looked at the calendar and my tom is due the 3rd.

But, usually this time of year I gain at least 5 lbs, so it is still a victory!

Hey guys. I had a great Christmas. I have not done good on the eating part but it will be getting better soon. I am going to run out of sweets and I will be forced to get good stuff again. I am shooting for Jan 1st to begin working hard on my eating right and my exercising. Oh my cats are fighting so I have to go break them up. My big kitty is still sick. Talk to ya'll tomorrow. HUGS

I DID IT!! I hit 250.4 today!! I wanted to see 250 by Christmas day, but it's within the week...I have officially lost 90.6 now!

I go back to work on the 2nd as well, Jane. The week is going MUCH too fast! Today is self-proclaimed "Jammie Day". I'm hanging out in my scrapbooking room.

I have also put myself on shakes for Breakfast and lunch and then I'm eating a normal dinner with my family. I figure as long as I'm on vacation, if I'm not eating out with friends, I may as well work on dropping some more weight :)

I went to a restaurant with friends last night and ordered a wild rice burger thinking I'd eat really healthy and it was so spicy I couldn't eat more than 4 bites! They took $$ off my bill and I ended up eating a ceasar salad and two mini corn muffin loafs. So that plan backfired on me! Friday I'm going out to lunch with friends and I'll just have a salad, I think. Something safe.

Anyway - have a great day everyone!

I am checking in just to check in. I am going low carb to get this sugar out of my system and as soon as all the hullabub is over, I am getting back on some kind of exercise regime.

Congrats Stephanie! Your are ROCKEN!

90 lbs is a small 6th grader! That is fantastic.

I've been swimming extra long, then going back to bed. Today I swam for 85 minutes. I also hit 162.5! I suppose I still could make 159.9 by the 2nd.

Big draw back to swimming so much, my face is breaking out something awful. Anyone know of any really good lotion or something I could put on my face before I swim to block the clorine?

Thanks, Jane! I never thought of it that way - a small 6th grader...I work in a middle school with grades 6-8, so next time I see a small child, I'm going to think of what you said.

I don't know what to recommend about the protection from the chlorine. Hopefully someone else will be more knowledgeable. Maybe ask at the Y or wherever it is you swim. They might have some suggestions.

Congrats on how far you've come, too! All the July Bandsters are doing so AWESOME!

Hey guys I got a Web Cam for Christmas. Do any of you have one? I don't know how to use it well yet but I am experimenting with it. I think you have to got to instant messenger in order to see me and talk to me. If any of you have it I am open on instant messenger. It is AT& T Yahoo messenger. Let me know if you have it and can connect to it. I would love to talk to you and see you as well. My hubby went all tech this Christmas. He bought a new camera that we don't need but he wanted it. I did get some nice things this Christmas. I had a good time with my hubby's family and that went smoothly and then just having my daughter here helped a bunch. I am so blessed to have a great kiddo. I couldn't have asked for a better Christmas. I hope all of you had a great christmas too. I have to go take a shower. I will be back in a while. Love you all. HUGS

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
